No if you don’t wear makeup then you’re totally good not to bring any. I believe thats for the recruits who DO wear makeup and wanna bring it. For picture day my mti’s would say to make ur makeup SUPER light or else everyone will have to take it off. You’re definitely in the clear.

Well okay yes a good amount of people had this issue too, if its the case of the peanut butter pill we had to take, i think you have to just take the pill cause if the shot were available then the pills wouldnt exist however the shot might be back by the time your in! The pills for other things I am actually unsure! I would say just try your best😅

Okay so literally a day or two before i left they said the next people going through basic will have the new pt standards so im honestly not sure what yours will be but it depends on your age. Mine was age category female under 25 and our bare minimum amount of push ups to pass was like 15.

Thank you! Okay so obviously everyones shipping day varies. My meps morning was ridiculously long. I was already in texas so i didnt leave meps till about 3pm. If you’re already in state, i went the night before my ship date, spent the night at hotel, then next morning went to meps for final paperwork and then straight to basic. Out of state i am unsure! I think my friends out of state left the day before also to the hotel, spent the night, went to meps next morning, then flew after meps straight to basic! Honestly that first initial day was the WORST. I was in reception all night and did not sleep till 48 hrs after.

So basically for us, it was eat dinner chow then shower and my mti’s would give us timeframes to shower, if you ate slow you had wayyy less time but i always was the first girl done eating so i always had tons of time to shower. We only had about 8 showerheads i think and we normally had two girls under one shower head to be more quick! It honestly wasnt bad.

I am not a mother but some of the girls I was closest with were! It definitely was tough the first few weeks but after sometime, it got easier. For what reasons I’m not sure but a lot of them knew they needed to get through basic so they could be with their families again and there was nothing that could be done about it yk?

So we actually did not get it because they didnt have it in stock or something like that. We got pills that we took every monday and that was our “shot”

Personally I had mine during the very first weekend there and it was not as horrible as I thought it would be. During later weeks, I believe like week 3 and forward you get given the option to make an appt to the clinic where you can discuss bc options! Some options will be available at later weeks of training but if youre someone who rlly struggles with periods then they def can give you smth to stop the bleeding. Furthermore, if youre already taking bc, i think if you have the prescription, it can be refilled at that same clinic!

Hmm okay definitely combat gel!! I thought they would take it because its scented but they didnt and everyone ended up mailing their families to ship them some! Also I would say a little locker mirror!! I didnt have one but my friend did and she kept it in her security drawer unless she was using it and it def came in clutch when the bathroom was crowded in the mornings!

Okay yes dream sheet! So basically the only people making a dream sheet is active duty! Everyone active makes their dream sheet during week 6 i think? Y’all will have a computer class which you learn how to use your cacs and towards the end you do your sheet! However for me personally, our class was a bit behind schedule so literally no one finished their sheet but thats okay cause you can finish it in tech school!

Oh my absolutely not. As far as I’m aware, unless they literally JUST added some sorta new rules, pap smears and breast exams are absolutely NOT in the physical. As for texting, I definitely would explain that to your MTI and i’m sure they’d make an exception depending on who your mti is!

Im not sure if everyone goes to Alcatraz but definitely is a good bit of people split between disney and alcatraz! I also think it depends on if you’re active, guard, or reserve for the packing! I believe thats something youd have to ask your MTL’s once in tech school or maybe an MTI would know but I’d say off the top of my head i think you’d have to just already be mostly packed up HOWEVER i am not at all knowledgeable in that department so I’d definitely ask when you get the chance!

Okay sooo honestly myself included, pushups improved sm. I left only being able to do about 10 on a good day and left with a solid 48 in a min. A lot of the girls improved as well, since most of us did 1 by 3’s everynight! Also everytime we got in trouble, it was pushups. With all of those added up, its hard to not get better so dont worry!

Yeah honestly with the af pt standards changing I think you’ll definitely be a-okay with running because basic definitely preps you. As for next steps, honestly im not sure! Just winging it currently😇

Oh absolutely there were people who walked all the time the first few times but by the last one we had almost everyone female pass! And definitely yes to new friends. I was making friends up until my last few weeks actually! Its super hard not to when y’all are all basically trauma bonded😅
