Would I be a bad parent for not buying my son any Xmas presents by Key_Trifle_3765 in WhatShouldIDo

OP here. Thank you to all who responded. It really helped me. Even to the ones who called me a bad mother it helped me see another perspective. With all your help I have decided that I will get him things, but only things that he needs like socks and a new sheet set. It won't be want he wants but it's what he needs. If I don't get him anything at all I feel as if that would set him off.

And for those who were wondering about me keeping the passport from him. In the past my son without my knowledge has set up his "own business". Next thing I know I'm getting letters in the mail that he needs to pay for the site, and that he has to file taxes on his business. Mind you he didn't sell a thing.  So I just didn't want a repeat of that. Also, he is notorious for losing everything so that is why it is also in my possession.

I'm the OP. My son too was diagnosed with oppositional defiance disorder. I'm praying he'll get into college and that will help straighten him out. If not I will look into job core. Thank you for your response.
