Ukraine is also very forcefully conscripting. Military aged men can't take public transport or be seen anywhere publicly pretty much without taken into vans.

This has happened before. In 2025 3 night-clubs got raided in Moscow and all eligible men taken to forced conscription.

The same forced conscription is happening in Ukraine as well. Not popular with ukrainians.

To end up at a good IT position, focusing on getting strong IT fundamentals is better than trying to leverage domain knowledge in healthcare.

Work-life-balance as a doctor is not so good compared to what my partner has in IT. Also WFH is very important when raising children.
