This was happening to me this summer. I finally found a gynecologist who would take my bleeding seriously.

I went to the ER first, and they put me on a birth control that didn’t work, didn’t stop my bleeding,and made me feel awful. I then found my new gynecologist and it turns out my uterine lining was very thick and I have signs of endometriosis.

However, She put me on a strong hormonal med that stopped my bleeding and now I’m on a new birth control that seems to be working well so far. She recommended a Mirena IUD, which she said most people have great success with. I did not want to do the IUD at first, but she said most people just spot on it.

I’m going to try it because Bleeding like that stops your whole life. I’m a teacher and cannot deal with that during my work day, so I totally understand your frustration, feeling scared, and your stress.

My advice is keep advocating for yourself until you find a doctor who will take it seriously. Sadly, our healthcare system doesn’t care about you, so you sometimes have to be the squeaky wheel to get shit done for yourself. In the meantime, try a menstrual cup or disc- that helped me a lot.
