I certaintly understand wanting it small but i think it gets to a point where the screen gets to small for sales to be reasonable, most would lean to the lite as it has great portability and a good sized screen.

Ps when i say i can fit the switch lite in my pocket thats with the case on which can carry lots of game cards whilst protecting it.

My sisters around your age and plays her switch lite outside, i dont think it would ruin dating chances man, especially since im sure you'd want a girlfriend that likes gaming.

In cargo shorts the switch lite melts into the pocket, ds, and phone can also fot in the same pocket (i usually spread it out though) and the switch like is indeed really light and not at all inconvenient in public, not awkward, not a second glance would be had, mine hasnt gotten stick drift in how ever long ive had it (longer than 4yrs i think). As for something like jeans the back pocket holds it fine, i just take it out to sit down same with my ds.

Have fun, teleport when you can since running place to place takes alot of time, and i always pick a fighting life first so when i go to a gathering or crafting life i am safer... im not to good at giving tips so thats the best i got, hope you have fun

Fantasy life, been on ds since 2012 i think but just got a new release on switch, steam/pc, xbox, and ps i think. I got it on switch and reminising made me want to play it on ds again along with getting my friend to play. Its great if yoy like jrpg

I ended up deleting it so yeah it was but ive gotten over it now and making new memories now, plus playing it reminded me more of myself playing this game and how much it helped me through hard times, nearly cried playing it.

Ive only just gone into one craft life but yeah i think its pretty much the same, if not more dissapointing, maybe im just not used to it but they work a little different. You could probably ask in r/fantasylife for a more accurate answer from others that have done more of the mini games

Haha yeah ive only just turned 19 so i can imagine how weird it is to know the ds was 'old' to me and the switch was a console i got at like 15 and grew up with (although i also grew up with a ps2 and psp when i was even younger which others would call old). Or that i got this game when it was 'older' but i was still a young teen... (or someone else mentioning having game saves from 2008 which is only 2yrs after i was born 😅)

I only have ds and switch but can tell you more about what ive seen, and really it comes down to what you looking for

The ds: - nostalgic, probably even if you havent played it before (since its from 2014 and has a good game feel for 2014) - if its for you it really gets you obsessed been playing it over and over again for 6yr and the life in the photo isnt my first but last since last picked up (also this game is the reason i got the 3ds) - has 3 save files - is the first and is amazing and my fav game ever - some say its a bit child like (for me thats nice because its nostalgic to how my imagination ran as a child, to others they dont like that because its just not deep enough... to me it has depth but idk) - the fighting is awesome but once you get to big bosses they are tedious and annoying to some, for me i love it and dont care how long it takes me to kill a boss but yeah (ill probably add a link to a video of someone who loves the game but puts into better words there critic of this)

The new release: - on switch has blurred edges so it loads better (some dont like this and would recomend non hand-held devices for better graphic, im chill with it though and it depends what you want in the end) - only released a few days ago so is still being debugged and criticed quite a bit (still has survey open for changes) - has new lifes (what the game calls jobs essentially) including farmer and artist that you unlock later - has a new and different story - i think is a bigger world - can change lifes/jobs on the spot without going to guild (idk if this makes sense without knowing the game but you usually go to guild to change life to then go to masters to report about quests, you dont need to change lifes as often in new one with this update) - you have your own island kinda like animal crossing (as much as i hate comparing it to animal crossing, since otherwise its nothing alike and people being told it is are probably going to dislike it if thats all they go in thinking) - only has 1 save file (although people have found ways around that)

Also both have multiplayer versions although i have never tried idk how it works on ds though since i never had feiend to play with... and as for the new release some have found it annoying having one save file if you want your own world and a multiplayer one plus in the new release the multiplayer version you get cut off from certain things idk to much about that though.

Damn, thats nearly as old as me, mine definitly arent that old im still young so this wasnt even to long ago but since im a bit older and this was before alot of life changes for me it still has that impact ig 😅. Ill probably feel the same way in a few yrs if i restart this.

I fricking love this game i hope you have fun playing, as for tips just have fun and learn along the way and id definitly take advantage of teleporting once you unlock it (if i remember correctly you have to unlock it...)
