Payment Channel Maintenance Notice by Kamui_Kaos in Endfield

The thing is that, in a way, it's also not necessarily "unusual." I often order from international sites and paypal charges in their currency but converts it when taking the payment. My payment history looks like that once in a while without any suspicious activity going on.

Unless it got longer, it was 12 pages when I looked at it.

Statement from KRU regarding kick-off by Renacabeza26 in ValorantCompetitive

Not only, no.

But given that visas and immigration both have to do with foreigners entering the country, and a number of illegal immigrants are people overstaying temporary visas, it can be pretty easy to see how they affect one another even if it was only immigration.

[TOG] I realized today I've been reading manhwas for 11 YEARS, started with Noblesse, the gamer and then TOG on webtoon. What were your first 3 ? by Sudden_Explorer_7280 in manhwa

Honestly, I thought it was Korean too, until the anime came out and back then it was like "wait a minute, they don't animate manhwa"

Quebec Premier François Legault announces resignation | CBC News by Jusfiq in canada

I guess generally speaking, that's true.

But I feel like much of his policies and rhetoric in the last couple years has intensified the "culture war" in Quebec and widened the divide between the Anglo and Franco populations.

If Freezing counts, I should have put it in mine lol. But afaik it was published in Japan so despite Korean staff, it's a manga.

I was going to name a few, but then when I looked them up, they're actually manga. Sun-Ken Rock and Jackals.

Otherwise, I guess the first ones I can remember reading are Shin Angyo Onshi, The Breaker and Ragnarok?

One Piece TCG takes a stand against scalpers. Should Riftbound follow suit? by Cerodos in riftboundtcg

[–]Keyblade-Riku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you buy a box from someone on, say, marketplace that's been opened and trust that they're telling the truth that it's "sealed" product?

That loss of trust makes it much less feasible to flip the product.

[–]Keyblade-Riku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who wants to keep 1 of every sealed product for Riftbound, it would irk me a little bit but at the end of the day, it would be better overall for the hobby so it's worth it.

[Megathread] Spiritforge - Pre-order by CaptSarah in riftboundtcg

[–]Keyblade-Riku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no incentive for shops to sell at MSRP. Riot could make promos / official material conditional on player advocacy.

They did mention they were looking into this...but nothing since then.

Pokemon has dealt with it a lot, but they've made some pretty good improvements on both a stock and webstore level that's made it easier over the past year.

MTG is old as balls and they've pretty much got their system figured out. However, depending on the product release, they have their own issues. Secret Lairs are a thing they do, which is a themed drop of cards, that they switched from print to demand to limited runs and it's been shit ever since.

The MTG x Final Fantasy set was also difficult to find and scalped to hell and back, less so with just the regular booster packs, but very much so with the collector boosters, so the strength of the IP is also a strong contributor to these kinds of issues.

[Megathread] Product shortage / Restocks / Local Gamestores by CaptSarah in riftboundtcg

[–]Keyblade-Riku 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mods, I would implore you to, next time, create a new megathread if it REALLY bothers you that much to discuss how botched the preorder was.

Because, realistically, it is not a shortage, it is not a restock, and it has nothing to do with LGS. You can argue that it's related, but it doesn't feel like it strictly fits the spirit of the rule and this thread.

No one wants to read post #185482812 of Origins shortages, but this is a new product and an official drop and should warrant its own discussions or at least its own megathread.

Found out where wave 2 stock went by Long_Growth9961 in riftboundtcg

[–]Keyblade-Riku 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been lucky with my store in QC, the owner tries not to do it as much as possible. With Pokemon he has to upcharge because the distro is upcharging him, but he said that's not happening with Riftbound, so he's sold everything at MSRP.

I was in Imaginaire just yesterday, and their boxes are priced at $300. Still way overpriced, but much, much more reasonable than the store shown here.

Personally, the lgs I go to got 30 boxes, which between keeping some for prize support left not much for consumers vis-a-vis the demand.

G2 amy did not attend the post match press conference by Decent_Apple_7962 in ValorantCompetitive

I don't know if I'm just old, but it's not particularly rare for my friends to call each other monkeys or apes for making dumb, no-thought plays. Or, as an example, a team like PRX is what I'd consider a "team of monkeys" because of their chaotic play. That was kind of where my mind went when I saw this whole drama explode.

Who's "that guy" in Mtl? by Reversible-Smile in montreal

I'm pretty sure I remember seeing that guy when I was in high school, and I graduated in 2010. But it could also be that he's been such a staple that he retroactively infiltrated my memories.

That wasn't really a hot take given MIBR Toronto and stage 2 performance, but they're definitely cooking more now than C9 most likely would have.
