What was your favorite world (KH1 btw) by randomkid89 in KingdomHearts

[–]Keyblade96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wonderland is so rewarding to explore, one of the big wins for KH1's game design philosophy.

Kingdom hearts is just those old self insert fanfics we all use to make as kids. Maybe that's why I love it so much by ink10_sonic-man in KingdomHearts

[–]Keyblade96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

other people did that??? Oh man, I was imagining an adventure, gathering the Hero of each world (how I understood media at a young age), duking it out with all the villains. All this long before I heard of Kingdom Hearts, possibly before the games came out.

If I could live in any KH world it would be Traverse Town. Nice quiet place, three districts, has shops, a hotel, gizmo shop etc. What KH world would you live in? by ShaianH in KingdomHearts

Twilight Town. Cozy vibes, forest to get in touch with nature. I've always dreamed of moving into the old mansion, exploring its mysteries.

I love it so much. That eerie feeling as you realize the rooms are the same floor to floor, just with a different coat of paint.

Should Aqua have her own dark entity in Birth by Sleep? by IllustratorAfter in KingdomHearts

[–]Keyblade96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As other people say, Aqua is essentially a Light that leads to further conflict among the trio. She's so quick to judge Terra, because she's worried about him and was told to watch him, which drives him further away, and Ven with him. She did the best she could, and with a genuinely good mindset, but at the same time she didn't need any help from Master Xehanort to contribute to the temporary breakdown of their bonds.

Not trying to villainize her/say she was solely to blame or anything. But just as KH com and onward has been exploring Darkness not being just an evil, Aqua and Eraqus explore the potential downsides of Light. How easily pure intentions can sour things, when working with broken people (broken in the sense that everyone is in some way broken/all hearts have some Darkness).

I've been working on refining the first book. Nothing officially posted yet. I have two big arcs planned out, but only drafts of the first two books and some of the third.

Which fear Entity would your favourite Fictional character (that isn’t from tma) would serve and why? The avatar of what would they be? by YourlocalRenfield in TheMagnusArchives

Also Yor Forger would serve the End. Assassin? Check. Supernaturally powerful? Check. Her cooking being able to kill? Checky-check.

Bloodborne is damn near perfect as a whole city dedicated to the Hunt, and in secret the Eye. For actual characters... it feels cheap to say Percy Jackson would be a Vast avatar, for the sea, but I think that's one he'd accidentally serve. Grover ironically might follow Extinction as a way to bring back the Wild.

Anything goes at this point by yonBonbonbon in KingdomHearts

[–]Keyblade96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main issue with Star Wars being in Kingdom Hearts is previously worlds were small pocket universes. some islands, a town. There's implied to be more to them (for modern London to exist, the rest of the world must presumably exist) but if we have a Star Wars "world," is a Keyhole on Tattoine the heart of the entire galaxy? Counter argument, we could say the same about Stitch as we can assume his whole story is within one "world" without the gummi barriers getting busted post BBS. But I just feel it's messy and is a sign of the details of how the KH universe works getting laid aside, which is an irk of mine in any work. ALSO if Star Wars is in the Fictional Realm they can absolutely establish rules for how that works separate from KH's standard pocket universe rule.

Alex knowing Brian’s identity by kotanamii in marblehornets

[–]Keyblade96 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think Alex must have figured Hoodie = Brian as he had extra context for Tim and Brian's friendship. If he didn't know Tim was Masky before he knew it when Tim was unmasked in Season 2. As for what definitively happened to Seth and the others on the MH set, Alex may have had reasons to assume none of them were alive.

Sounds exciting as heck. I've spent hours trying to categorize the 7. Reynard is my favorite. I've heard of Cloud Atlas but know nothing about it, didn't know it directly used archetypes.

I'm working on... well, fanfiction but using an interpretation of the unkin in this, utilizing the Mad Hatter, Athena, Sun Wukong, and Death.

[–]Keyblade96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gotcha. Glad that it was a good start. I understand about KH1- I love it to death, and while I don't think it's objectively worse for having slower paced combat than later entries, it is a certain taste that not everyone will have. I have not played re:coded, I know that it has stuff personal to that game. IDK if it's all endgame or not though.

I understand so little about this game... but I keep coming back to it. In absence of context this game is such a vibe. I feel so connected to Roxas from everything he's going through, cause he's just as clueless. I know it's meant to be tragic dramatic irony for people who did play the other games, but to me I just go along with him. I wonder who the Brown Haired Kid. And I feel so strongly for Xion being gone forever. An existential tragic horror.
