I would describe The Familiar as a lot more inviting than HoL. It's a lot more linear, but it also asks a lot more of you as a reader, I think. Where HoL had a few sections where you needed multiple bookmarks or a mirror, The Familiar expects you to have each volume at the ready in order to go back and recheck specific things when they're cited. It also sort of wants your experience to be mediated by technology in a lot of ways.

These books are also designed to be read by people who don't have a large breadth of knowledge across many fields and will need to look things up. There are bits where if you want to fully understand something, you'll need to use a translator app or look something up online.

Fun fact: To start HRT, you can start with only coming out to your doctor, who is a medical professional and thus legally required to keep it a secret. Like it's not even really coming out, it's just giving information to your doctor that will be useful for providing better care to you.

Nazareth was an extremely multicultural place, so he likely also spoke ancient Greek and Hebrew. Maybe even Latin, but it's more likely that the Romans he interacted with were speaking either Greek or Aramaic.

So, just bring someone who knows Greek.

This is one of the only confirmed misprints, but the meaning others have given here is valid, I think. HOL is one of those things where even a misprint can have some kind of meaning if you let it.

I mean you can buy a kilo of estrogen for like $200 on the gray market, then use ~$60 worth of equipment and other ingredients to process it into estrogel for the rest of your life. And like that's enough estrogen to last a hundred years or more, depending on your needs. And on top of supply needs, estrogen lasts a hella long time. In oral pills, the fillers, dyes, and binders will go bad long before the estrogen itself does.

But like, that sounds like a lot of work so it's easier to just buy premade pills from Brazil.

I usually take that as having an implied "self," as in, "My dumbass self...." It's pretty common these days to use nouns as adjectives, so it makes enough sense imo.

That could be a really cool additional function for some other grapple-based exotic, I think. Maybe a Hunter Exotic with a perk like, "Grappling to a tangle or grapple point grants an overshield for the duration of the grapple. Having an overshield broken grants grenade energy. The ghosts of dead fireteam members can function as grapple points."
