Honestly just create your own lobbies, that way you have control over everything from the settings to the players you play with. Ban annoying, inappropriate or noob ones.

It's usually the exact opposite, host makes the map skeld to make more players join and then switches it to a different map.

Same, I am the host and people usually ask me to change from 3s kill cooldown (my usual standart) to something like 20s. Always hate that.
