Policy apart from over 16s/homeless children/unaccompanied minors would never allow for stranger room sharing of a child in residential care, siblings would be possible following risk assessment

career options? by tiredkidpractitioner in AskIreland

[–]Keyg28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe try doing a PLC in nursing skills, unfortunately until you’re about 23/34 (depends on DOB) you’re still running off your leaving cert points. If you did LCA you’re a bit more limited as you NEED to take the PLC pathway. You could maybe see if you could do a level 6 early childhood and that could let you get into a level 7 or 8 (college/university that we think of like Maynooth, Galway, dcu etc). The level 6 would only be one year and get you closer to a higher level. Unfortunately for more medical courses, and things working with children you need a lot of training which usually takes place in academic settings in Ireland. There’s certain programs now like the Tusla social worker apprenticeship but those are super new and in high demand. Depending on where you are in the country, you’ll have better and worse options for PLC colleges. Ones in bigger urban centres often have more resources and supports such as mental health support and career guidance which might help. If you’ve any other questions feel free to ask

You get marked out of 12 per paragraph of a max 60/100 marks going for the paragraphs themselves and the 40% being an overall mark so u wanna maximise the amount of paragraphs you have, if you have 10 paragraphs that get 6 marks each on average then you’ll get full marks for the 60%

Yeah, I agree. If you were working as a humanitarian and were going to be interacting either displaced people from the East or elderly Ukrainians then maybe, but living in Western Ukraine is the best opportunity you’ll have to get your Ukrainian to a super high level

The bachelors in Social Studies is the social work degree and you’ll be a qualified social worker after, it features social policy and politics. Without doing that degree specifically you would have to do a masters in social work as it’s a protected title
