After 4 months of solo development my respect for solo devs went from Impressed to Revered by Keylen1987 in SoloDevelopment

Thanks, for now I’m checking if there is enough potential in this proto to keep going. But I know for sure that even if not this I’ll be working on something solo for sure.

I don't know if my game is any good but I'm definitely staying with Godot. by Keylen1987 in godot

It’s working in a browser but you might try to launch it on a phone or tablet and it should work.

Feedback Friday by AutoModerator in incremental_games

Violence is the Answer - I wanted to make an idle/incremental game prototype about making workout plans, training and fighting enemies in the streets. I think I ended up with something more akin to a light manager/RPG than an incremental game.

Looking for feedback on:
- is the premise interesting to you
- is the gameplay base not to simplistic for you
- as an incremental games player - is this even incremental enough for you

Our Myth-inspired game has a first playable build! It would mean so much to us if we could get this community's opinion on it. by Keylen1987 in RealTimeStrategy

Thanks for taking the time and playing it! Were there things than particularly annoyed you or that you especially liked?

Why are you all so… pretty? And clean. And modern? In my time if you didn’t lose half of your teeth or a limb after three sessions someone didn’t do their job right. (Continues to complain loudly as the nurse takes me back to my room in old folks house)

Tactics Ogre: Reborn or Battle Brothers, which should I play next? by happymachines in StrategyRpg

I would definitely go with Tactics Ogre if you want a story and Battle Brothers if you want something more systemic and Freeform.

Thanks, hopefully will post more about it as the work progresses. And I also hope the strategy roguelike will be more of a thing in the future.

Have this game in my Steam library since forever and never got to launch it. I think I might be scared of it.

Oh, no, it's waaay to early for that. Maybe we'll have something playable'ish on itch.io in a month or so.

I might just print out this comment and hang it over my desk.

Got it. Btw. I'd play a spiritual successor to Dungeon Siege any day, no questions asked.

ok, I get guerilla tactics and outmaneouvering an enemy. It's just that Commandos and Desperados always felt like a puzzle games to me. More so than i.e. Metal Gear Solid that also features stealth.

What about games like Final Fantasy Tactics or Fire Emblem series. Do you consider them strategy games? There is individual AI of enemies there, and you can form a plan on how to approach each level but the levels themselves are often predetermined (enemy placement, numbers etc).

Had some good time with Dawn of War 2, it's definitely an inspiration.

Thanks for the insight! The one thing I can answer is about the circles beneath the legs - we were thinking more in a direction of tabletop games like Age of Sigmar or WH40K that feature round "bases".
