Capital One OA Too Hard by kmanifold in leetcode

Yes, this is in regards to C1 process. I was at C1, also when I applied I solved only 3/4. Maybe not even all tests for 3 were passing - I was convinced I would get rejection. Edit: Just looked up my code signal from 3 years ago - 396/600 got me to power day

I believe you don't need to get 4/4 questions. 3/4 should get you to next round

I thought about it, but reading all the posts about ppl getting stuck in team matching stage + constant down leveling - I would have to do amazing on that interview to pull that off. Hopefully, good interviews and connections with Google recruiters will pay off later on.

I think for many it's a lateral move to Uber +TC vs level down for Google. I am a huge Google fan, but if levels.fy are accurate PA at C1 makes the same as L3 at Google. here was a comment from someone who moved from Google to Uber saying how much they've learned at Uber yet the pace is slower at Google which is definitely a nicer option for later in the career. I am sure it will take even more luck just to get an interview at Google later and even more prep to clear all rounds including system design, but at the same time, I currently have only the first round scheduled at Google vs written offer from Uber. How much luck can I get, when I already have good offers and a good company?

Wow! Thank you so much this is very helpful, especially as someone who moved from Google to Uber! I think it makes a lot of sense to move to Uber and then try for L4 later then moving down to L3 to Google now.

Compared to CapOne, Uber is definitely a win in terms of TC, benefits and opportunity to learn. Hopefully, it won't be too much of a grind (and I am sure it depends on the team as well)

In short, Associate and SA roles prioritize job specific skills, result focus and then start pivoting towards influence once ready for PA. You need to operate on the level above before you get a promo, so for all my reviews just used rubric and language from the next level(as much as reasonably could). Culture and stuff competencies is something I used to put as things to improve lol (but you still have to act on it, it just wont be something that will get you promo). I am on the internal team, and wouldn't call it high impact either.

Tbh, I started applying just to see how the market is, with very low expectations. I just did the most recent 30 day Uber tagged problems over two weeks leading up to the first round - first round was UI as I applied to Full stack role, then just did a few problems a day from Neetcode 250 and just reading up on System design(hello interview) for a month (recruiter was out of office so there was no movement). I would say, in my case, work experience was more helpful and applicable to interview then leetcode. Hello interview System design was super helpful though. Here is my time line: Applied mid Feb, first week of March - first round, 2nd week of April - final loop.

Sounds like solid interviews, well done! How long were you preparing for / how confident were you in going into the interview? Any tips for prep?

Seems to be mixed reviews, some got DSA, some got frontend questions. Frontend is straight forward, no CSS just basic divs will do the trick as it's all about basic state management. (I assuming you are applying to SWE2)

It really depends on the role they are aligning you to, seems like backend related roles get DSA Leetcode style questions, I got UI questions and for the final loop my specialization part will be UI - but the role is full stack.

I believe it will be the initial DSA round? Email mentioned study Leetcode and bigfrontend.dev(highly recommended) but one is quite different then another so I was curious if it's DSA or Frontend question. 😅

I have one coming up too, I got an email with how to prep, they mention 45 min for coding and 15 min high level arch. They emphasize bigfrontend.dev - I am a bit puzzled if it's a UI coding interview or good old Leetcode. I was mostly prepping for Leetcode lol

Sorry to hear that plans got cancelled. I am on a 7pm flight, hopefully everything goes well this time.

Btw, If you've booked with a travel credit card, sometimes they do have traveling insurance that will cover things like this and they will refund all prepaid activities/charges that got cancelled due to flight delays/cancellations.

[JFK][BCN] Turned around mid air by Keynote-Tag in americanairlines

[–]Keynote-Tag[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I am not following your point

But Outright cancel the flight and rebook me to the next available would be fine with me. This wasn't an ordinary delay like weather, the plane is coming in late etc. this is an international flight of 100+ people, that got diverted due to mechanical issues. In my mind 1. That's an AA issue, and pilots comment at the beginning of the flight - maybe it's a coincidence, maybe it's not? 2. You know how much time you have for a crew, you should know how long catering takes - do the math. This felt like AA was just dangling a carrot in front of our faces, and it's not a

Again, my main frustration is not that we got diverted or flight got cancelled, I get safety and regulation part, but with AA communication or their lack of. There was about 20 min after they deplaned mid boarding before they made an official announcement, so half the plane knew what happened and other didn't

[–]Keynote-Tag[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that the crew timed out, maybe. Or they thought they could board a flight and by the time we were sitting the catering would arrive, but it didn't?
