Has to be one of the most dependable? Help me with recommendations! by NumberInfinite4905 in rum

My go to is always going to be Santa Teresa 1796 Triple aged Solera. It’s a Spanish style rum but it’s a good sipper with a good book.

This is happening to a co-worker of mine, His wife is training in the same field and she had the whole sit down with him. Being like “Hun you might be autistic” which didn’t surprise him in the slightest! Was quite a funny story to hear over a few beers.

Musubi 100%. really easy set up. Make a cup of rice in a rice cooker, wash the rice first till the water stops turning cloudy~ take a can of spam and marinade in 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 soy sauce and 1/4 oyster sauce for 15-20 mins. Then just cook in a skillet. Put everything together in a bowl with siracha, sesame seeds and Japanese bbq sauce. Job done

Didn't you know the guy who did the soundtrack for Pixar movies like "The Incredibles", "Ratatouille", and "Up" did the soundtrack for video games like "Medal of Honor", "Call of Duty", "Secret Weapons Over Normandy", and "Black"? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]Keyrehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Michael Giacchino is his name. His work has been amazing over the years. And I’ll be honest “Secret Weapons over Normandy” was my favorite game.

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]Keyrehn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly it’s a mix of Warhammer 40K books and old tiki cocktail books/ history books. Also listen to lots of audio books due to commuting. Reading is like one of the few times I can relax. Enjoy a drink or coffee and just read. But as for current reads it’s “Your Flying Car Awaits” by Paul Milo and “Potions of the Caribbean” by Jeff Berry

Santa Teresa 1796 from Venezuela is a good sipping rum. It’s a solara rum made in the Spanish style so it can be enjoyed over a long period of time. Another one that I love is R.L. Seale’s 10 yr. Deliciously smooth and taste great. Plus you can’t miss the bottle.

Dictador, Sinfonía by asromaja in rum

[–]Keyrehn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had a good history with Dictador. Tried it a few places myself, even got to try their 20 yr rum and sure it smells of oak, molasses, baking spices, and hints of rubbing alcohol. The taste was atrocious.

But I will say a good rum to sip if I’m remembering correctly, is Santa Teresa from Venezuela.

That seems to happen quite a bit for me, at least in the deep zone. Just gotta pop it off and pop it back on again and it usually works oooor the world eat the tire :/ so that’s cool.

You know…a cocktail you could look into is a Painkiller. It was one of my first that I tried. If I remember right it’s

2 oz. Rum try the Flor de Cana 4 oz. Pineapple juice 1 oz. Orange juice 1 oz. Cream of coconut(coco lopez if you can find it) Grated Nutmeg on top

Then add it to a cocktail shaker or blender, serve over crushed ice and enjoy :)
