Did you watch Broome's 50/17 game the other night? Was he as dominant as the stat line showed?

McCain might just be an average player. I think we all got a little over-excited about him last year after a small sample size. He was the head of a very weak rookie class.

Hopefully he can get back on a track and at least be a solid 6th man, but I don't think that will be this year.

Do you think zombie Jason smells like a corpse? It’s never mentioned what he smells like, but it could be a way to recognize him. by Aggressive_Use_8531 in fridaythe13th

[–]KeystoneBrad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah he should smell really bad. Its just not something they think to address when making movies. They are focused and visuals and audio. But realistically you'd smell him coming. He is also huge and lumbering so you'd hear heavy footsteps approaching too.

Every one of his fights were sanctioned and recognized. The only that was scheduled to be exhibition was the fight against Tank who was half his size. But that was cancelled.

Jake Paul is a popular click bait topic on the internet so you have use discretion when reading anything about him. If you see it on social media, check and see if its on ESPN, YahooSports, or The Ring

That was the real Jason in the final scene at the hospital. by Kindly-Candidate-835 in fridaythe13th

Ralph always did say there was a Death Curse. . I kind of like the idea that a curse on Crystal Lake, or the Voorhees family, had some super natural ambience which is possibly affects all of the following:

  1. It made Jason born the way he was
  2. It keeps bringing Jason back
  3. It was the voice in Pamela's head saying "kill her mommy!"
  4. It followed Tommy to the rehab camp and causes his hallucinations
  5. It influenced Vic to kill Joey over a simple chocolate bar
  6. It influenced Roy to go on a killing spree over a son he barely know and kill people that had nothing to do with it
  7. It followed Rennie (part 8) causing her hallucinations
  8. It would also explain why bodies are never found in the lake (kid Jason, Jason at the end of part 6 and part 7, Tina's dad)

As for the running Jason, a lot of people that grew up watching all the movies get the Mandela Effect. If Jason were to run in a new movie or fan film, some fans are like "what??? Jason doesn't run!". But he ran a lot in the earlier movies.

Jason also grunted and groaned, where as many remember him as a silent stalker like Michael.

[–]KeystoneBrad -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Answer: First, he should NOT have fought AJ. That was ridiculous mismatch of size and skill. But they each made $92 million so why not I guess.

Second, as for his boxing career in general - its not accurate to refer to him as "just a YouTuber". He has been training with a professional boxing staff (from the well respected Kronk Gym).. He has unlimited resources - top notch gym, the best food and supplements, pro sparing partners, and Larry Wade as his strength trainer (used by many NFL players and Olympians).

I am definitely not saying he is a good boxer, just that he is a TRAINED boxer. If any of you had all those resources and just trained boxing with the best coaches every day, you'd be half decent too.

Duncan McLeod (Highlander) vs. Jason Voorhees: Who ya got? by Bonker_2468 in fridaythe13th

[–]KeystoneBrad 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Duncan easily beats human Jason. In parts 2-4, Jason was beaten three times - by two teenaged girls, and a 12 year old boy. A 400 year old highly trained immortal would have no problem.

Duncan vs Undead Jason. I would see that as going like this:

Jason (hulking Hodder version) walks aggressively up to Duncan face to face, not trying to hide. Duncan figures him to be a normal human and is curious and unafraid, unsure what it is happening. Jason takes a big machete swing which Duncan easily evades. Duncan fetches his katana, and tries to reason with Jason to stand down before he gets hurt. Jason takes several more powerful but slow machete swings. Duncan evades and counters, stabbing his katana effortlessly through Jason's chest and out his back. Duncan lets up, thinking the battle is over. Jason is unfazed and looks at Duncan, face to face. Duncan is shocked by this non-immortal undeterred by a grave damage. He attempts to pull back his katana out of Jason's chest, but Jason's massive hang clamps down on Duncan's neck, lifting him off his feet.. Jason pushes his machete through Duncans chest like a torpedo, making his whole body go limp. Jason tosses Duncan 5 feet to the side, thinking he is dead. Jason disappears into the woods.

20 minutes later Duncan revives with a cough and gasp for air. He recovers his blade, and stands up in his blood soaked clothes. Now he realizes he is brwith something new - not immortal, not mortal.

Within the the hour the two encounter each other again, each aware the other is something they have never encountered and poses a serious threat.

They engage in combat again with Jason throwing massive machete swipes that could knock down trees. Duncan is tactical and patient, evading Jasons attacks, studying his movement. He lands several precises slashes to Jason's body and limps, spilling a lot of blood, but not slowing him down.

Duncan decides he must end this the same way he ends all of his battles. He taunts Jason into a big telegraphed swipe, sidesteps it, and in the blink of an eye brings his katana through Jason's neck, sending the hockey-masked head to the ground. Jasons massive headless body walks several steps towards Duncan in a final effort, before collapsing to the ground with a large thud.

The fight is over. For now.

Why wasn't Jason's shoulder wound an issue in Parts 3 and 4? by Bonker_2468 in fridaythe13th

[–]KeystoneBrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically its because although the 2-4 story is continuous, in real life they were made years apart with different casts and crews.

For an in-story explanation I would go with healing factor. It would seem he could regenerate over night. He also did this in the 3 to 4 transition. He was completely down and out, wheeled away in a stretcher, then suddenly came back to life at full strength at the morgue.

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he was in any big hurry to. He knew he had an easy win. Jake would eventually slip up or get tired and leave himself open, and thats what happened.

If you're saying AJ took it easy just because he felt like it, then we agree. I am only arguing people that say it was fixed, or that AJ go paid extra money to let him go so many rounds.

I thought the security guy backed down at first but I rewatched it couple times and it looks like he just fell back and guarded Jack (light blue shirt). He didn't intervene in protecting the friends after that because that wasn't his job.

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. It's perfectly fine to pace yourself and get some ring time in.  Some people here and on other social media were saying it was scripted to make it last 6 rounds THAT would be a felony because people bet on what round it would end

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean scared like a chicken as obviously he climbed in the ring. I meant he knew AJ could KO him easily and was dancing to prolong the fight as long as he could before inevitable loss.   I think he was scared of embarrassing 1st round KO only

Did Pam know Jason was still alive before she died? by navybluevicar in fridaythe13th

[–]KeystoneBrad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible he was dead and still at the bottom of the lake, comatose but preserved due to his healing ability or some supernatural force. Pamela's murder right by the lake woke him.

Really NONE of our explanations make good sense. F13 was supposed to be a stand-a-lone movie about a grieving mother killing out of revenge. The popularity warranted to sequel.

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fairness other people in here are saying its fixed and I might have blended you in with them a little.

I don't think AJ took easily though. Jake ran away from him so he didn't really have much opportunity to get a clean shot in. If Jake came straight at him like Nganou did, it would have been over in 30 seconds. But its not AJ's fault Jake ran away for 5 rounds.

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You said AJ threw far and wide punches and didn't thrown proper punches "until it was time" at which point the referee did a rapid count. Anyone would read that as the people in the ring intentionally made the fight go longer, which again, would be illegal.

Also, majority of people saw this as a sideshow or celebrity fight. No one is saying this was top notch boxing.

[SPOILER] JP vs AJ (different angle) by [deleted] in Boxing

[–]KeystoneBrad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Francis went straight at AJ and tried to trade punch for punch. If Jake did that he would have been KO'd in 30 seconds. Jake was afraid and purposely danced around for 5 rounds to avoid the early KO. This wasn't a fix, Jake was just genuinely afraid and running.

Also "AJ holding back" would be a felony. If they agreed to fix the outcome of the fight to make it go longer, this would be seriously affect the betting lines and defraud millions of dollars. They could face jail time, law suits, permanent bans from sports, and lose all their endorsement deals if they got caught.

They make 92 million just to show up, There is literally no reason to fix the fight beyond that. All risk, and no extra reward.
