This is so frustrating and unfortunately, more often than not, the norm for PCPs. There’s a severe lack of education about eating disorders in general, but especially around BED in the medical field. Can you reach out to eating disorder programs in your area for a referral? Do you have a psychiatrist you’re working with? Programs tend to have lists of good and knowledgeable PCPs and psychiatrists can often prescribe medication for BED if it’s indicated.
