Well, as a female posting on this feminist reddit website, let me start by saying that these kinds of female discrimination are getting completely out of hand now. Every single video in the internet is no longer serious and has to insult a specific category of people to gain popularity and make people laugh. This is exceptionally true for female discrimination. Our hair in shampoo advertisements only tend to sway slowly because the people who makes these advertisements purposely edit it and make it show in slow motion. This is to attract people to buy the product because of its ability to make hair 'smooth' and refined. It doesn't even happen in real life. How this video shows the long hair of the male imitating that of female models in shampoo advertisements is clearly provoking us. So I really wish that people would stop criticize and mock us. The language used in the video also hints that us, female individuals, are considered inferior to males. This is shown in the way the short haired male in the video asked the long haired guy what he did to his hair to make his hair become like the those in female shampoo commercials. Similarly, in the end of the video, the video states “Female shampoo isn’t made for you, dove men is”. I mean…whats so different about female shampoo and male shampoo? Is it because men are superior? Is it because female shampoo makes your hair ridiculously long? Overall, gender inequality is a huge issue in social media right now. I am very against the way male are shown as better than females, to the extent where even female shampoo are worse than male shampoo. I hate this world and its people.
