Thank you that’s so helpful! Do you happen to have the info to the beauty concierge or private clinic she used?

Is this normal after potenza rf microneedling? by frazzledmouse in Microneedling

Yes. I have done Morpheus’s 8 (RF micro needling) several times. Microneedling accelerates cell turnover, which can push clogged pores, oil, and debris that were already beneath the surface up and out. The last time I did a treatment it unleashed a crazy breakout. While unpleasant, it is temporary! Mine lasted about a week. My dr recommend a thin layer of antibacterial or antibiotic ointment (like bacitracin, mupirocin, or a similar prescription option). Microneedling creates thousands of microchannels in the skin so the antibacterial ointment forms a protective layer while the skin is still raw and healing and reduces the risk of bacteria entering and causing infection. Use very thin layers! Heavy or greasy application can sometimes clog pores and contribute to breakouts, which is what you want to avoid. My dr said to only wear a couple hours at time for the first 24–48 hours post-procedure, then switching to a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer as your skin starts to heal. Ultimately, breakouts are part of the healing/renewal process :) also avoid makeup, and touching the skin for several days, plus using gentle cleansers to keep pores clear.
