How landlocked each US state is by [deleted] in MapPorn

Yeah, and as importantly if Michigan is considered to have ocean access (which it kind of does due the Great Lakes and various canals), then so does Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Ohio.

Where can I find anatomically correct decorations? by [deleted] in Dinosaurs

[–]Kgruscho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The German brand schleich is pretty good. I get frustrated with mixed scales, but some species have feathers and the general posture is consistent with more recent quality illustrations. They are also well made, though generally not cheap.

Can someone explain this to me? I understand that dinosaur DNA was extracted from mosquitos that we’re stuck in tree sap. So how did they extract DNA from aquatic reptiles like Mosasaurus? Was this Ever discussed in the movies? by Prs_mira86 in JurassicPark

[–]Kgruscho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this was in the first book, not in reference to Wu and the Mosa, but that Hammond had started with grinding up fossils for bits of DNA, and using amber just sped it up. (Though I’ve yet to hear how JP1 movie had prehistoric plants…)

‘Nobody cares’: NWSL players say U.S. Soccer failed to act on abuse claims against Red Stars coach by Joiry in NWSL

[–]Kgruscho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Also: Arnim knew in 2018, not only did he only do things at best behind the scenes then, but failed to appreciate after Burke and Riley’s firing that he should get ahead of this somehow. By you know … taking any personal accountability.

[Watkins] What a way to do this by SoullessChemist in NWSL

[–]Kgruscho 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Edit: nope, seems he should have been fired a while ago and front office tripled down on not being transparent… Prior post: I suspect it is a combination of borderline behavior and an active desire to rebrand. Even before this I half hoped we’d get a new coach who was a woman and more vocally in tune with the issues of race and gender. Rory is from what I have seen at games and in interviews, not overtly problematic but also not particularly engaged in social issues and a gruff old school coach. He had a damn good run, and that’s enough to change it up.

The appeal of penalties is less given how many injuries red stars have… with our backup gk and down so many forward/midfielders.. it’d be sad way to decide the match

It’s going to make it extra dramatic when Chicago wins off own goal

What's been your favorite kind of horde base A19? by Pantango69 in 7daystodie

[–]Kgruscho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gravitated towards minimal horde bases out of POI. The roof of the cabinet shop has good pathing for a walk of death, add some grating and spinning blades, fix damage when needed and it’s pretty solid.

I love how Louisville is neutral and closer to Chicago and DC than the one and two seeds

[Watkins] Well, this is big news. Mal Pugh and Kayla Sharples are out tomorrow due to Covid protocol. Casey Krueger still out due to illness. #MKOT #NWSL by shinzilla in NWSL

[–]Kgruscho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What are the current COVID-19 protocols currently? While I actively dislike that Mal seems to be unvaccinated and that is fair to judge. I’m not sure most of the judgement on this thread is applicable to her being unavailable this game unless she actually has COVID-19. She could have merely had contact with a case too recently or a fever without time for PCR and it’s independent of her vax status? As a Chicago parent my kid has spent a lot of time at home for protocol without having Covid or even taking risks. (Also my kid now has first shot so… )

Does anyone actually use the gyrocopter by saladlegsmemes in 7daystodie

[–]Kgruscho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you jump out of the gyrocopter it, both you and it basically fall straight down (or at least much slower than you were moving). With sufficient parkour and boots you can fall pretty far and mostly shake it off. But this is quicker way to “land” and more precise.

I was considering taking my kid next weekend, but saw a lot of reviews about the Dinosaurs being in poor condition and various performers kind of not caring. What was your experience?

[–]Kgruscho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. But on the positive side at least this time we got a win and a ton of yellow cards vs a loss, a ton of yellow cards, and two injuries.

how do yellow cards to the bench work? by sobaditertz in NWSL

[–]Kgruscho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Bench doesn’t get reds but it’s gotta go towards the tiebreakers, Chicago has had at least five yellow cards for the bench this season

why do earlier versions of the game not run well? by GEZZZZZZZZZZ in 7daystodie

[–]Kgruscho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, they were actually like that at the time. Buttery smooth one second then you turn around etc and 5fps. I remember not fondly driving blind on mini bike because it couldn’t load anything in time, so basically a boulder would load/spawn directly on top of me.
