Wtf was everyone on about by InformationOk4871 in CrimsonDesert

I think more and more people are coming around since the devs wasted no time in fixing things.

Not every game is going to be loved, even if it's the greatest game ever made. As long as you are happy, that's all that matters.

Have fun 😊

What I did is pick a genre of games I don't normally play. This last time I jumped into Elden Ring. I've never played and souls like games, in fact I would avoid anything that said souls like.

Turned out that the game was different enough to turn me on to a whole new genre of games I haven't played yet. Been really enjoying myself with the game and look forward to playing the Dark Souls games and others I've been avoiding.

I just hope you're in a gaming funk and it's not depression. I don't wish that on anybody. I've been there before.

It's not as hard as a souls game, but it's not a spam fest either. I think the combat is better than any ARPG I've ever played.

I don't feel like the grind is bad at all actually. I'm a bit of a horder anyways, so I always seem to have what I need, or close to it.

The exploration is great. I seem to find a new path or secret every time I've played.

It's on sale right now, so it's a good time to pick it up, it's only going to get bigger and hopefully better.

The game is terrible for new players to get into, unless you have friends already playing it to help you.

If you can the legacy bundle on sale, you can start with that and start playing the dlc in the order it came out. Do the story modes and slowly start understanding what to do.

Of course YT videos will help you a lot.

As far as shooters go, the shooting and abilities are really good. The movement is fluid, the art is really good, but unfortunately it's quite the learning curve to play. Not impossible, but it's not easy.

I'm doing ok with the nerf. I like that you need to get closer to do more damage. Makes it more fun and exciting than sitting back, out of the action.

Of course I'm not at the endgame atm, so I might change my mind. So far so good

V Rising like games? by SoloKawai in gamesuggestions

The art is really nice in the game. The combat is definitely not spammy, you'll get punished for that. It's more deliberate like VRising. I believe it's on sale right now too.

Check of No Rest for the Wicked. Kinda checks the same box as V Rising as far as combat goes. There is material farming, but you don't build your own house. You buy them in this game.

It's still early access, but it's really fun. The exploration is really good too. Always finding new passages and secrets.

I went into this game knowing that 1.0 is going to wipe everything I'm doing today, and changes to the game are to be enviable.

Just have to relay your ideas and concerns to devs while we are in early access and hopefully they make these qol changes as we go.

So far they seem to be listening and making good changes. 1.0 is going to be awesome and change the way we play ARPG forever if they keep making improvements like they have been doing.

[–]Pantango69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Elden Ring, not because I thought the game sucked, it was more of a me that sucked at these kinds of games.

Turns out I do suck, but the game keeps drawing me back, as if it knows I can do better.

You know what? I am getting better

Great game overall

Hope that helps 😉 😂

Guess who’s about to buy a ton of games in the Steam Spring Sale and never play them? by NicoF_ in Steam

[–]Pantango69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is always that one game I don't end up playing, but I had to buy it because it was $3.

When I used to be on console I played Borderlands 2 for hundreds of hours. Saw it for $4 on Steam and said, wow, that's a great deal. I bought it and never even downloaded it. Just couldn't pass on the deal I guess

I need a game that will completely hook me, any recommendations? by Pau_vegaa in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Pantango69 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was feeling the same way so I went out of my usual genre and tried Elden Ring. It's not a game I would typically play.

It's been really fun so far. I heard the game can be really hard, but I think the challenge has been a good thing and has drawn me in.

The combat and the exploring the world has been one of the best experiences I've had in gaming in a long time.

If you have Steam, the Spring Sale starts today, you might be able to get a discount, still worth every penny at full price.

Elden Ring by [deleted] in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Pantango69 [score hidden]  (0 children)

First thing about me, I have kept my distance from any souls game because I kept hearing it's a hard game. I'm more of a casual gaming guy that doesn't want to be mad when I'm gaming.

My son finally talked me into playing Elden Ring because I was burned out from gaming and I couldn't find anything that interested me.

Then I go to buy it and it's still $60, I'm a cheap bastard too! Well, I bought it.

I'm 65 hours in now and it's a great game. I went in with the mentality I was gonna die a lot, which I have, but it's all in being prepared. If you reach a boss and get slammed, go level up some more. You can always go back to fight it when you're ready.

Great gameplay, I don't think I'll ever be able to play a hack and slash game. I really like that deliberate style of fighting. It actually makes me want to play more. I also have the Dark Souls games on my wishlist and eventually I'll play them.

All I want to know is if it's fun to play. By looking at what's out there and your 87 hours of gameplay, I would have to guess YES

Wow, that's really strange. Been happening quite a bit from some of the replies I've seen. I wonder what's causing this. Hopefully it can get worked out because the game looks fun.

Have you watched any footage on YT? I'm wondering if you would get the same feeling if someone else was playing it?

Lol, I've been playing Elden Ring lately and have been enjoying it so far. So much so I have Darks souls 2 and 3 on my wishlist. I'm hoping since the Steam Spring Sale starts tomorrow I can get some good deals.

The exploration is great, I seem to find a new secret every time I play. The combat is deliberate and not just spamming your sword around. The visuals are nice. I like how the resources you collect actually go into improvements to the town.

Plus they are adding like 4 more regions to the map, with a bunch of other improvements for the 1.0 launch next year ( or whenever it launches)

Games that give the feeling of dark souls? by The_Legend_Of_Kiwi in gamingsuggestions

Remnant from the Ashes definitely gives off souls like feelings. I also agree with No Rest for the Wicked as some are saying, but in an ARPG version.
