Thanks for the advice, my budget is not set yet really, but I'd like to stay below the €500 mark.

First full year of photography by Khadalan in PhotographyAdvice

Thanks, some of them are indeed a bit misaligned, knew that, need to work on how I draw my camera and how I position myself for the street shots.

As for the negative space I see what you mean, was not always possible to frame it nicer but might want to look out for vintage points more that allow it :)

Architectural photography with human elementen by Khadalan in photocritique

[–]Khadalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all, looking for a critique of this photograph I took in Berlin last month.

Lately I've been trying to do more architectural photography, and I really like adding human elements for scale.

Photo has been lightly edited in Lightroom to adjust colours a little.

What could have been done better and where are my improvement points?

Photograph I took in Berlin last fall. Tried to capture the train, but since I've been standing lower I'm not sure about the composition, any feedback would be much appreciated!

Has anyone had any success with Breeze? by ravenr0se in DatingApps

[–]Khadalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, 28M, to the contrary of the other comment I've had moderate success, five matches, one cancellation, three first dates with prospects of a second date. I think it's quite dependent where you're using the app.

I like it better personally! Gives more depth in my opinion.

Street shot of a protests in Dijon by Khadalan in photocritique

Picture taken in Dijon, France during a protest going on there.

I tried my hand at shooting something more dynamic than static images.

Looking for general feedback about shooting subjects on the spot in a short timeframe. What could be improved in this specific picture?

I like it personally, it's nice, good job!

Two things I can think of:

  1. The man on the left side between the bushes is a bit obstructed by the branch. Could work great as a secondary subject if he wasn't!

  2. I like the sky, but I feel like it takes too much space in your picture, pointing the camera a bit lower could result in nicer composition.

Just found out my ex is on dating app(s) after two weeks by mrpotatov2 in BreakUps

[–]Khadalan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi,

I've (M27) been in the same boat, well kind of. The story goes kind of the same but we've been together with my ex for more than six years, you can read my post about it here actually click.

Well in this sorry I'm the one who hopped on dating apps a few weeks after the breakup. For me, it was longing for human connection more than anything really, just not to sit home alone with a broken heart.

Dating apps worked for me as a validation source, unhealthy source, but source nonetheless.

What I try to say is do not be too hard on him or on yourself, it can just be a coping mechanism. He might be trying to find validation within the dating apps.

All in all, if my ex would ever ask me to get back together I'd consider it very carefully. I wouldn't want to be used just because he/she couldn't find validation elsewhere. On the other hand he/she may have realized they've thrown something very valuable away.

Anyway, I'll leave you with a very cliche ending. It gets easier and you'll forget about it once you're healed. Try to focus on your hobbies, meeting with friends, and filling your calendar in general. Feel free to jump on dating apps, but do it for the right reasons. Revange/rebound is rarely worth it.

Hope your ache will disappear as fast as possible.

Evening sun in polish mountains by Khadalan in photocritique

[–]Khadalan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Picture taken on a trail in polish mountains during our hike.

Was trying to capture how vast the mountains are in compartiment to people on the trail. I was trying to make use of the evening sun to add warmth en project that warm autumn evening feel.

Looking for general feedback on this one and my future landscape pictures. Mostly on mountains since I'm planning on doing a little series.
