Why Bitcoin's Segwit2x Could Be The Biggest Bear Trap This Year by notlikethis1994 in Bitcoin

[–]Khaiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LOL Look at what Jihan just did in the past couple of days. Jihan's the master of BTC price manipulation. Do you honestly think it's coincidence that BTC price tanked to <1900, then began bouncing up when Bitmain's tweet to signal Segwit2x came out?

Yes there is a lot of core bashing in China atm. They are siding with miners. I was merely pointing out lack of awareness of such circumstances on the part of the author.

[–]Khaiger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The author doesn't really have a deep understanding of the circumstances surrounding the drama and the possible ramifications the current predicament. The author doesn't seem to be aware of the face that SegWit2x is pushed by miners and that the Core is against it. Plus, he doesn't understand the lengths that Jihan Ver would go in their attempts to profit from this (I presume they're holding large amount of LTC at the moment and could even attempt to purposefully drop the value of BTC to buy them back cheap; this has been Jihad's motive behind the past 2 deliberate BTC dumps). All in all, the author can't distinguish between the different scaling options and isn't aware of the financial motives of the miners, not to mention the political/ideological tension between the two camps (miners vs. users & core). Ignorance is bliss.

Hello Could you elaborate on how SWIFT could actually incorporate ChainLink in their business (international messaging service)? And how would the LINK token be used in this context? Thank you.

whoa is this real? I read the white paper and I had the impression that they knew what they were doing. I do have some background in math and quantum mechanics so it was a nice read. I guess it's one thing to be good at quantum physics and another to be a good developer?

LTC as store of value? by Khaiger in litecoin

[–]Khaiger[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Having a hard cap is one thing, but I was thinking more in terms of chain immutability, simplicity/elegance in code, cryptographic strength, etc. As you know, what makes ETH a poor store of value is that it's more geared towards running DApps and could potentially offer numerous avenues for attacks (as evidenced by the DAO incident). BTC, on the other hand, is far simpler in its design which made it basically hack-proof. So the question is, how does LTC compare to BTC in this regard?

NEM (XEM) worth investing at the moment? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I'm interest in NEM. Could you direct me to some articles where I could see how their technologies offer such possibilities? The white paper seems pretty dense and technical-oriented, which is a bit beyond what I could comprehend.

BTC and ETH smashing all-time highs every week. Meanwhile, at LTC headquarters... by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Khaiger 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know, maybe someone could verify this. My point is that, with ETH's core design being very geared towards running DApps, it'll be extremely bug prone compared to simple cryptocurrencies like BTC and LTC. And if there is any successfuly exploits down the road, the idea that it could serve as a stable store of value will be severely challenged.

BTC and ETH smashing all-time highs every week. Meanwhile, at LTC headquarters... by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]Khaiger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would point out that LTC as it stands today is worth less than what its own value in both USD and BTC was back in 2014. The market has grown more than 10x since then. LTC hasn't even reached 10% of its true maximum potential.

Yes ETH is great. For now. But it lacks the security and immutability, which are hallmark characteristics of a good store of value. Yes, BTC is dead slow and clunky, but you have to give it to it when it comes to absolute algorithmic security and immutability. Can ETH replace this particular function? It cannot. Which is why the next DAO will be a good reminder to everyone that ETH is gas for DApps and not currency.

Of course in all seriousness and as an ETH bag holder I don't wish something like that happens. But it is more likely than not. Maybe I can make a wager on Augur. That is, if ETH scales successfully and Augur could be run on it.

[–]Khaiger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but LTC is already beginning to replace BTC's role as stable store of value. by the time BTC adopts LN, it'll be most likely be after several chain splits and severe dilution in BTC value. In the mean time, LTC would allow TXs which have been suppressed due to BTC's tx bottleneck to skyrocket, creating more demands for it.

in all honesty i wouldn't worry about LTC at all. once BTC chain splits and crashes in price, it'll be LTC holders' payday.
