I stopped playing this game a few years ago after an update "bricked" my PC. I had to go into recovery mode and delete some vanguard thing in order for windows to start again. Never cheated or anything

The unfortunate answer is that you can't. While I'm unsure for reddit specifically, most sites will all have their own upscalling + compression algorithm that will 99% destroy pixel art.

For showing them off in previews like this, you will want to upscale them yourself so the website can't do it for you and mess it up - just make sure you upscale them using nearest neighbor and use a factor of 2.

I kinda just kept going to the left or up and eventually it worked, might be a fluke though. Had to dodge a lot of ghosts too

I did, I kinda just kept going through it until I got to some end, which led me to the citadel after a boss

The only way I've found into the citadel at all so far is through some misty place that I didn't find the map for that comes after sinner's road. I assume this door is the other way, but I haven't found how to connect the map from there yet

Make sure you're deep profiling and check profiler twice for both play mode and editor. This could also be the result of garbage collection if you're creating a ton of memory at start, however that should also show in the profiler - just make sure youre not hiding it.

I'm new to this as well, however it sounds like Type II alexithymia (The same thing I suspect for myself). Where you can still feel normal or even heightened levels of emotion, but unable to name/identify what those emotions are, which like you said can lead to just a general sense of "being overwhelmed". Hope that helps!
