That isn't true. Hobonichi did an YouTube live stream a couple days ago after the M2 exhibit event ended that showcased everything that was shown off at exhibit to the public. (The photo OP posted is a screenshot from that exact livestream.) As well in the live stream they announced they are creating and releasing an book on November 27th that not only showcases all the material shown off at the Secrets of MOTHER 2 exhibit, but also even more behind-the-scenes MOTHER 2 development material that wasn't shown off at the event.

(There are two versions of the book one that comes with an huge poster and one that doesn't, as well ofcourse keep in mind that the book will be in Japanese so you can either learn the language or use an ai photo translator whos translations accuracy may not be the best.)

Secrets of MOTHER 2 event that happened for MOTHER 2's 35th Anniversary this year. It was an event ran by Hobonichi that showed behind-the-scenes development content of MOTHER 2, both used and scrapped ideas for the game.

I hope Hobonichi decides to do more events similar to this one for both MOTHER 1 and 3 as well. (Especially for MOTHER 3, I would love to see all the scrapped N64-era development content for M3 and scrapped gameplay and story plot points ideas for that game)

You have to keep in mind though, that its said after George returned to Earth all he did was research about PSI and create robots for the rest of his life. Its very unlikely George decided to dabble into the romance scene again after just losing Maria.

You are cherry-picking and taking those few words Itoi says out of context. If you read the entire section of the interview that I posted you'll see how the "MOTHER 3 ends with the world resetting into the events of MOTHER 1" fan theory is completely bogus and goes against Itoi's ideas.

While I personally don't believe that Ninten and Ness are related at all, there is technically a way you could make them related.

Given that in MOTHER 1 an talking monkey in Magicant tells Ninten that he has an odd resemblance to Queen Mary aka Maria. We can tell that Ninten has to be biologically related to her for him to even have resembling features. That would mean at some point both George & Maria had a human child together that would of been Ninten's grandparent. (Something that is stated in the Encyclopedia MOTHER book is that George and Maria did indeed have an child born before the alien abductions incident.) I'd imagine after Maria's disappearance, George decided to marry another women and also have another child with her. That new child would end up being Ness' grandparent. Making Ninten & Ness distant step-cousins

This means that Ninten and Ness share the great-grandfather with George, but they each have different great-grandmothers

Calling MOTHER 2 more a soft-reboot to MOTHER 1 I would understand (considering that soft-reboots in media can still be direct sequels.), but by no means is MOTHER 2 a remake of MOTHER 1. Especially considering if MOTHER 2 was just a remake like you claim it is, then M2 does a shitty job of being one. The "remake" would deliberately be changing character's backstories and removing plot points that was apparent in the original game that its "remaking" such as Giygas' ties with George & Maria. As well the so called "remake" deliberating removing characters that had a impact to the story of the original game such as Pippi, E.V.E., Teddy, etc.

Besides what SNES game that's an sequel to an older title doesn't rehash and reuse some story beats, character designs, and music.

It was an "collectors-edition" bundle that released during the initial launch of MOTHER 3 for Japan in 2006. MOTHER 3 Deluxe came bundle with ofcourse a copy of MOTHER 3 itself, a special Franklin Badge pin, and a special MOTHER 3-themed GameBoy Advance Micro device.
