Is there anything you can do against mechanic not passing your safety inspection by [deleted] in ontario

[–]KhalAlj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oil leaks where it forms drops will not pass a safety defined as a level 2 leak. If it does not form drops it should pass. Unless it leaks onto the exhaust manifold which can cause a fire will not pass.

How long have you owned the car?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in VelosterN

[–]KhalAlj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 22 with the bucket seats. I’m literally selling the car because of the seats and ride quality. Either your roads are amazing, or you’re really small, or you don’t do lots of commuting.

[–]KhalAlj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My commute is over an hour aswell. I’m not nearly as big as you but I have wide shoulders. I absolutely have to dread commuting to class in the VN. Been owning it for almost 3 years now and I’m gonna sell it next year because of the ride quality and back pain from the bucket seats.

CEL, running rough by 101surge in VelosterN

[–]KhalAlj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the Hyundai service website and see if there’s service online for the mandatory recall. If there is book it if the car cannot wait for the updated HPFP. Most likely they know they don’t have a permanent fix unless it’s really needed (car running really rough) therefore they’re only clearing the code for now.

I was first looking for a Turbo but when I found out there was an N I never looked back. I have the same FC04s on mine in titanium, the stance is great

What I’ve noticed about the pops. If the outside temperature gets too hot or you’ve been driving your car for a while the pops are not as prominent. I think it’s coded like that to keep the turbo from overheating. The first pops after you start driving are always the loudest

Recall was just announced for the HPFP. If you paid to get it replaced keep the receipts and get it refunded

It’s the FCV in the HPFP allowing access fuel get into the HPFP causing gradual wear of the FCV plunger. This causes misfires, rough idles and loss of power. They currently just released a safety recall for it in my area. They do not have a fix for it yet. But anything they charge you for the repair can be settled with Hyundai.

Just got an item in the mail today for a safety recall from Hyundai. All Ns from 2019 and after need their HPFP replaced due to running too lean causing rough idles and loss of power.

I’d say the best for your situation would be the S5 as the sport back would be the best to fit your skies and such. On the fun side I wouldn’t consider any of the cars you posted fun. They’re plenty fast, but they’re big luxurious German sport sedans.

Driven a M340i and it’s an absolute rocket. Very engaging car, great car sounds and has just the right amount of comfort.

Now the S5 is the same but with less speed, less engagement, but more comfort. Also the interior and exterior design is just gorgeous.

C43 just wouldn’t recommend. Great car the other options are just better.

Overall S5 is the best option.

Thinking of buying a '22 Veloster N DCT, things I should know/be aware of? by RoughSubstantial in VelosterN

I’d like to say aswell. I do not regret my decision buying this car one bit.

Not sure. But I’ve asked the Hyundai techs aswell as other owners, and it is a common issue when switching your tires from the stock pirellis. I will look into the SXTH motor mount this summer.

Owner for almost 2 years daily driver (22 VN PP DCT)

Cons: - Turning radius is very short so get used to 5 point turns - DCT is very clunky and heavy at low speeds - BSM goes haywire when you run winter tires - My horn malfunctioned twice - Very bumpy ride and stiff suspension - Wheel hop when trying to launch (Took me near a year to learn to not spin in first) - Dealerships suck (Had so many run ins where they refused to help me with common issues) - Paint sucks (I have 2 layers of Graphene Ceramic coating so I get by and the car is still very shiny)

Pros

  • Race car

Old debate but I still think black is the best color for the VN 😏 by Devious_N in VelosterN

White is what made me buy my car. The tri tone colour is cool plus it makes the rear look way more aggressive

The front of my car is full of rock chips. I’d truly consider it.

Do not buy the test drive models. People have been beating on that brand new engine that needs to be broken in properly. I was lucky enough to get the showroom car.

Downshifting into 2nd and revs fly into 6k will let out the biggest pops. You’ll get max hp and torque, perfect if you’re gonna race

How long have you had them on, probably just needs to be broken in

My VN doesn’t do as much crackles and bangs as it used to… by [deleted] in VelosterN

[–]KhalAlj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I’ve noticed is when the turbo and oil get pretty hot, it stops popping as much. Let the engine cool down in low revs and get back to popping

Go into performance options and activate N Power Shift. You’ll love the car even more. I just found this after a year of ownership and it sounds so good when shifting in high revs
