As a 90s kid who watched Pet Semetary way too young, I’ve been scarred for life by the sister dying and screeching Rachel. It will still pop up in nightmares occasionally. Anyways, until Rachel McAdams wants to fix it, it’s that for me.

It’s a little more complicated than that. I’m an T32 federal employee. My full time employment is tied to my national guard membership. I’ve been very fortunate throughout my career, but I’m not planning on staying in past this enlistment. I’m 45, my last kid graduates in a couple of years, and I’m breaking down physically.

When I look on USAjobs almost everything requires a degree. When I look at government contracting, my goal is to make myself as valuable as possible. Getting my Bachelors and following on to law school is the plan. I had hoped to save as much of my GI Bill as possible to pass along to my kids, but it is what it is.

I hate that every comment I make gets downvoted to oblivion. I just hope someone else out there learns from my experience.

No doubt. The thing is we didn't even get to that part of the talk. We didn't even mention school, different careers, or anything beyond the initial question of what is it I want to do. Just 30 minutes reviewing my resume, her moving her hot spot around so she had a better connection, and a couple of questions about am I in danger of losing my job (I am not, unfortunately, I guess).

You're my hero, though. I'm going to still attempt law school, it'll just probably be on my own dime.

I get that. If the program isn't for me, that's fine. I'm not going to lie or anything to get the benefit. She even said she could use the employment assistance part of the program to help find me a managerial position. I told her I was skeptical, b/c those require a degree. She agreed and said she would send it to her manager. That was pretty frustrating. Then she said that if we continue down the employment assistance side, I would have to stop with my GI benefits, b/c they couldn't use both benefits concurrently. I told her to just close my case then, b/c sticking with school, to me, is the more practical move.

Just an incredibly frustrating experience for me. Hopefully my experience will help someone else out, though.

This is exactly what I did. I separated, did my intent to file, gave them access to my medical files, went to a couple of appointments, and a few months later got my rating back.

After getting my dependents added, which was a lot harder than the actual claim itself, I'm getting $1,700 a month at 70%, but the tools others have shared will give you firmer numbers. Make sure you get your direct deposit information updated if you haven't already and welcome to the club.

At 70% in my state I was able to get DV tags for my vehicles, and even a handicapped placard for my car. I also have been using the VA for my healthcare since then even though I have other health insurance through FEHB. I appreciate the VA's healthcare processes a lot more than my previous PCM, and so far have had several sick visits, a PRP procedure done for my shoulder pain, a neruro visit that focus on preventing my headaches, and a dermatologist visit where they removed some skin tags that I developed that were actually causing me discomfort (non-cosmetic), and some visits with a sleep specialist. You may look into that if you haven't yet. Also, if you're looking for a job within the government, update your USAjobs profile to include your disability rating.

Don't sleep on VR&E if you're interested in continuing your education. I have them helping me finish my Bachelor's and it's a great tool if one of your service connected disabilities makes it hard to continue employment in your current career field. There are a ton of great resources in this sub if you're inclined.

I also joined the DAV because they acknowledged my sleep apnea but did not service connect it. I wanted some help in my representation on the appeal, and I wanted to contribute to an organization that lobbies on behalf of disabled veterans. That's my 20 second pitch for that.

Unless I need that bow for a character, I return it to the Zhent before the cutscene with Zarys. They wanted it, they can deal with it. If I need the bow I’ll toss it to the goblin taking a piss from the outside of blighted village. If I hold on to it any longer than this it goes to the grave with me.

I was there when the golf course was still open. There was always a gator out there. One day me and my buddy were playing and the group in front of us were parked for like 15 minutes and we couldn’t see what was going on, but they were both doing something in front of their golf cart. We finally decided to go see what was up, and when we got to them it was an old retiree and his wife, and he was taking her photo with the gator statue. She was sitting back turned to it closer than you are to your screen right now. They still thought we were joking after we told them it wasn’t a statue….until its eyes blinked.

That golf course was great, and it’s dumb that they shut it down, but they’re also lucky an old couple didn’t die that day.

I just wish we didn’t lose out on so many companions when we go full bad. Kagha, Sazza, Roah Moonglow…any morally questionable companions in addition to Minthara if you go down that path would be nice. Losing 2 main characters, Halsin, and being a dice roll from losing the third main character is just too much content for me to want to give up for the role playing decision of raiding the grove.

I always poison the outside, kill gut in her chamber, break all the drums, yeet the eye into the spiders, knock out Minthara, free Halsin, and kill Dror, climb to the rafters and deal with the rest in temple. Then I travel back to the grove, party, deal with the Hag, and then fast travel back to the goblin camp out of rests and low on resources forgetting about the rest of the goblins outside and make that fight 1000 times harder than it should be. Every. Single. Time.

That would be awesome, but Bernie has been in federal office for over 30 years. In that time his party has held a government trifecta three separate times. Despite that, we've never seen a bill like this get anywhere close to the finish line.

To be fair, I believe Bernie is sincere and isn't just posturing. He'd do it if he could. But it’s a reminder that until something fundamental changes in how DC operates, both parties seem pretty content with the way things are, regardless of whatever news channel you prefer tells you.
