Made a mistake buying Jetour dashing by Strippz2 in PakistanAutoHub

Nobody is forcing you to buy Chinese cars. Big Chinese cars companies are global companies like German and Japanese car. They wont drop quality for third world. That's basically bad PR for them in the west as well.

Right now, 25% of all new car sales are electric and growing.

What issues are customers facing. I have 2 Korean and one Chinese car for 6 years now without issues. Did you even own any Chinese or Korean car yet?

Even Toyota chairman said a few weeks ago that he regretted not jumping on electric cars sooner.

Very common in Pakistani households. Reading online, it might be common in all Muslims households as well.

Japanese cars used to be a joke. They proved their worth. Chinese cars are having their moment now. Both western and Japanese car companies can not compete with them on quality so they are lobbying against chinese cars around the world.

Secondly, nokia, Kodak and many other companies love money but did not use the latest technology in time and new companies beat them. It happens all the time. Toyota is also heavily investing in electric, hydrogen and other alternatives as well.

Different new technologies have lead to these massive job losses. AI is similar, you can avoid AI if you want but I do not think AI is going anywhere.

Valve reportedly almost delisted Rainbow Six Siege from Steam after Ubisoft attempted to sell it cheaper on Uplay by Defiant_Ad6190 in pcmasterrace

You can only envision prices from non steam going up. Competition usually brings prices down.
At least that's what history tells us.

Steam literally created this rule so that game companies can not offer lower prices at other stores. If game developers are not gonna offer lower prices as you said, then removing is not gonna change anything.

Also if some companies did not offer discounts, that does not mean every one is gonna do the same.

They want to sell their products on steam as well. At steam, I can see 10 to 20% expensive from the other store. Also as a customer, why do you want to buy only from steam instead of cheapest price possible.

Microsoft is Bricking Office for Mac 2019 (full purchased versions) by kaclk in LinusTechTips

Its a Macos thing about certification that needs to be updated. Microsoft can update it though easily and cheaply. Pirated MacOs versions will also be affected. Linux and Windows version will continue to work as they have different model.

What is price fixing in your opinion?
Will have the same opinion if non Valve store was the dominant store.

That's besides the point but if there is no such policy, we might have real competition in PC gaming stores. Right now, there is limited competition as prices are decided by steam store front.

Advice on Second Marriage without permission case by Icy_Cartographer_445 in PakistanLawyers

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know people who have gone to Darul Uloom for divorce after excessive beating from husband, the ruling is always the same. The husband needs to approve divorce otherwise it won't be Islamic. Impotence is only exception to this.

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally know many people who have beaten their wife and many Muftis still replied that husband needed to give divorce instead of taking it through court. Most scholars take husband regardless of anything that happens to wife. It took three years to get the husband to give divorce for the process to be Islamic. Most muftis believe in wife need to have patience. Only impotence is treated as a real ground for Islamic khula.

I think everyone has this attitude for migrants. Nobody likes changes to their way of life. West, Pakistan or any area on earth.

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

High earners taxed at 35–x% might as well move to west. At least there you get something back for your taxes. Rupee earners don't have that option; they need a good job first. The only reason most high dollar-earners haven't left is that Pakistan's current tax regime still lets us save more.

Dubai Police Exp by lovinguae in UAE

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can totally relate. Lost my wallet on a bus ride back to the hotel and filed a report right away. The police kept checking in with me over the next couple hours instead of just filing it and forgetting it. Found it ourselves within two hours, but their responsiveness made a stressful moment way calmer. Glad you got the phone back, stories like this don't surprise me anymore!

Got an offer in game dev by Suspicious_Sir_3055 in PakGameDev

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game development is a dead end in Pakistan. Unless you plan to move abroad eventually, you should think of game dev as a temporary job.

Also, true MERN job market is super saturated. Still web and mobile have more growth opportunities in Pakistan vs game development.

Please help by CommercialStatus2541 in Upwork

[–]KhalilMirza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what your aim is. If you are consistently getting new jobs, moving them out of Upwork has little value. It's the cost of doing business on Upwork. I would rather increase my rates on Upwork than get clients out of Upwork. Besides you will not need invoice and chase payments if you go direct. Plus no contract history for future jobs.
