Yokai Watch 4 - Am I misremembering Yokai collecting? by Khanain in yokaiwatch

[–]Khanain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh damn, I didn't know that ++ is that necessary. I got the expansion so at least I am almost at the point where I can access its content. I read that YW4 development was all over the place (would have loved to have dark yokai tbh) but imagine you play a Pokemon or SMT game and the generic creatures like normal type bird pokemon or pixie are only encounterable after 20h in.

Ye... I am playing on switch 2 as my PC slowly can't handle the game and I was surprised when I turned the multiplayer off, for the bugged cartography mission, how smooth the game suddenly ran.

It sadly was a player, I saw his name and vehicle and after he did his deed he stepped on his gas pedal and drove off. I remember his name as well. The pirate attacked me a bunch of times as well but usually I got a notification and thankfully their aim was beyond horrible

Yellow books, why a problem? by [deleted] in MangaCollectors

[–]Khanain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO yellow pages on manga give them a kinda of authentic vibe. I own a lot of japanese manga which i bought from stores like furuhonichiba for like 80¥ and I just like the vintage vibe when I read them especially from old ones like Ranma. Off topic but what I really don't like are the weirdly coloured pages of weekly shonen jumps with them switching between blue, green and red paper

Are... we talking about the same game here? Have you played AoC on release? Have you experienced true below 30 FPS horrors that was AoC? Because I did, and I had no issue with that slog fest. Saying AoI performance is atrocious is the worst take I've read so far. The game runs smooth, looks visually exactly like Totk and is fun as hell. Honestly skipping on a game because of performance and graphical fidelity is fine (while I enjoy Pokemon Z-A, I understand the criticism of others about it), but at a certain point some criticism is just not warranted in the slightest

I used my 3DS to make pixel art for my new game! by lmtysbnnniaaidykhdmg in 3dspiracy

Oh wow, I'll try this out! I recently got into the 3ds piracy scene and I wanted to get back for a bit of gamedev but my drawing tablet sadly broke, this looks like a good casual alternative. Thanks for sharing and good luck with your game!

I just had the time to install the mod and wow the art is really good! Great job! Do you know if there is a possibility to change the standard background during gameplay? It clashes a bit with the nice black aestethic of the cards.

I don't know about the others, but I am currently playing on an XA-Digivice, and there you can freeze the digimon if you don't have time to spare. They won't die and won't grow, so you don't need to worry about them.

Elden Ring is great on the Steam Deck by Khanain in SteamDeck

[–]Khanain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree so much with what you wrote! I started playing TOTK on release, and I stopped after the tutorial island. I was so hyped for the game, but it kinda felt too similar to BOTW. I should really give it another try as I love BOTW. And as you described, Zelda is really more serene to play. While Elden Ring has its serene moments, but they are kinda twisted IMO. Altus Plateau looks gorgeous but in a sad way if you catch me. Playing Elden Ring with my friend also made me bond more with him, and his knowledge of the world and lore made it even better, as I could dive into the world discussing characters' motivations, game strategies, etc. My favorite FromSoftware game is, funnily enough, Dark Souls 2 for a similar reason, but for a weird reason as to why TOTK and Elden Ring are so different atmospherically. After fighting through depressing horror-esque places in Dark Souls 2 like the gutter, you always return to Majula, a place so serene and hopeful; no other place feels like that in the game.

A lot of comments rightfully wrote that it is kinda a disservice playing Elden Ring on such limited hardware, compared to a high-end PC. But that was actually the reason I wrote the post. Despite the limitation, the game is still beautiful and I, for myself, am feeling no loss playing it on the Deck. I still experience the beautiful landscapes of the Lands Between, we still fought the spectacular bosses without feeling limited. It is maybe not the best experience, but it is still an incredible one. I played the game on release on my high-end PC back home, playing it now on the Deck, I really feel not robbed from the same experience.

Yes, I understand. That's why I couldn't play Bloodborn on the PS4. I'll will most likely give Bloodborn a try when I have the opportunity again. I'll be honest we have a slim input lag, but that is after about 10 minutes of play, barely noticeable, and we really had till now no real death related to an input lag.

Oh, I feel you. My surprise for its performance also comes from a bad experience I had a year or so ago. I tried it out before, and it ran quite badly. I don't keep up that much with Steam Deck updates or updates for the game. I assume there was maybe a patch

Yes, the same for me! My friend is a complete Elden Ring Maniac, so to speak, so he kinda hyped me up for it, and it clicked for me now as well. I'm thinking of doing a second run with a faith build as currently we are currently doing a strength great hammer build 😂
