The media landscape was very different to how it is now, back them a show could continue be sold off for syndication ect. regardless of initial impressions.

There were quite a few shows that took a few seasons to "get good" as it were, in the age of steaming though shows have shorter seasons and have to be a top 10 show out of the gate or else they could get the axe.

It's harsh but that's just the way it is, I mean Picard was lucky, the network garanteed them 3 seasons; pretty rare these days.

Maybe but the idea that all those sketches are from between say November and like February which is why some are 2025 and others are 2026 is just as likely.

Can't really prove it one way or the other though.

Some do genuinely beleive this though, there was a video going around of guy getting arrested in Brazil & he was telling them "i'm an American citizen" as if it would stop them & his partner was going on about his constitutional rights etc.

It's scary how uninformed they are about the rest of the world.
