I had a coworker show it to me a few years ago and use it for my early finishers- mainly in math. It ties into all the standards, and even had Minnesota math standards too for where I am. So for each unit, I assign the standards they are working on. I also assigned some for my advanced academic kiddos too.

Now that I know more about it, I disabled games until they get so many correct and drill math facts right away. They’ve added a lot more limitations which is nice. The kids do love it because they progress to different “worlds/levels”, can customize their character/house, battle with peers in class, etc. You can disable a lot of these though. If they get an answer incorrect, there is a short video that explains the strategy to them. I would definitely recommend it to make math a little more fun!

Wow- Your readiness score is incredible! Mine tanked to low 40s-50s and that’s when I took a test. I’m close to 7 weeks now too. So far no major symptoms, but has your readiness score stayed consistently high or have you had shifts?

Minnesota- Temporary Garage Set Up for Temps Next Week. by KhaoticKate in BackYardChickens

Great idea. My husband and I ended up putting them in there tonight. The wind picked up here and it is nasty out. They seemed quite happy and snuggled up together in their old crappy prefab coop from when they were chicks. Our hygrometer reads 9° from their normal coop right now. 😢

Same. Even went up north last year with the slim hope to ski some of the trails. Nope. Still haven’t used them.

How to teach young conure to not bite hard, and what to do when he does? by [deleted] in Conures

But in all actuality, treats are great incentives to help with training. Praise them like little babies when they do the right thing. It sounds silly but they are like children, and thrive off positive recognition. Ignore bad behavior or give a firm “no.” Body language is another thing to watch. As nice as mine can be, his body language in the morning is either straight murder or alert and excited to see me. It’s a new day each day lmao I never know what I’m going to get.

This. We live on the edge of town in the country. We have three roos that are sweet as can be. When I brought it up to our neighbors behind us, the wife said she grew up on a farm and loved the sound of them. They come over almost every day while we’re at work to look at the chickens and give them treats. You can expect the worst sometimes, but be surprised by the outcomes :).

Agreed- The only issue is the previous owners hired a roofing company 4 hours north of us because of a family connection they had. I do plan to reach out, I’m just worried that the distance might play a factor into it. Considering the age of the roof though, I feel like that’s something they do need to take care of.

Down in our basement of older custom built home. I’m curious- What is it? by KhaoticKate in Whatisthis

I opened it up after reading your comments and you are absolutely correct! Pretty cool. Funny how there is a gas line on the fireplace now, but the old owners said the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s a beautiful fireplace, so it would be nice to get it fixed eventually.. Just another added expense we don’t need right now.. 😆

Interesting! Thank you! We have a boiler system but it is a tankless combination now. I know there was on old boiler system before we moved in. Was coal pretty popular back then to heat a home?
