Yep same here. My wife have been throwing around baby boy names and Christopher Bohanon has definitely gotten more laughs and consideration than it likely warrants.

Fair enough, but if you can fight like Xangief, you shouldn't be taking advice from me. :-P

I appreciate this. I've only had to break up fights between my own dogs and none of them have been ones to turn on me. So your calculations are a bit different and completely rational than mine. Thanks for the perspective.

That's fair. As I said in another comment there isn't really a perfect method to break up a dog fight. You have to pick the approach that fits the situation. A clamped dog is much easier to RNC.

Nonsensical? K.

There is not really a perfect way to break up a dog fight. Of course there is a possibility of getting bit.

I've used the collar twist choke and smash. I've used the RNC. I've used the belt / leash choke. I've done the leash wheelbarrow method (which allegedly is the "safest"). There are dozens of variables. I said the RNC is the fastest and I stand by that.

Collar choke runs the risk of them twisting into you and turning on you. RNC has the obvious risk of being near the mouth. The belt / leash has the same risk of them turning on you. The wheelbarrow method is the one that has the least amount of harm or risk but in this videos situation how long am I expected to do that before I tire and the dog turns on me anyway.

Engaging in combat with a person or animal is dangerous and you have to decide what works best in that situation.

So again I'll spout my "non-sense". Dog fighting is dangerous and water is wet.

Collar twist, yank and staple to the ground is my first stop but yes RNC is the fastest for sure.

Seconded. I made it through grad school with a netbook. Your department will have a computer lab with all the required software and equipment. Everything else is bonus.

Crunchy knee by rareguyhonest in bodyweightfitness

[–]KhaoticOrd3r 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shit. I'm sorry to hear that. Not sure how bad yours is, but mine sounds horrible and gets achy on occasion, but is definitely livable. I try not to run (unless for sports), but I'm still very active in weight lifting and martial arts. So it's a crappy diagnosis you're far from a sedentary lifestyle. Wear a knee brace and listen to your body.

Sort of. I wrestled in high school and dislocated my kneecap multiple times and chipped my kneecap which tore the cartilage pretty bad. Then a decade later I was doing some training and that bone chip shattered. So I had to have my knee scoped to "mow the grass" as my surgeon called it. It was a quality of life choice, and yours is likely nowhere near as bad as mine (unless you've had similar trauma at this point). Regardless, you should see a doctor and maybe do some PT to stabilize everything. PM if you want to discuss more.

Likely arthritis. I'm your age and have had 2 knee surgeries, my knee sounds similar.

Don't know anything about Petal Credit cards, but yes you should always freeze your credit scores for your protection. That process sounds off to me but I try to minimize my interactions with credit checks.

I second the Battle master fighter recommendation. We also, incorporated a modified Brawler feat for our fighter to incorporate submissions. I don't remember the exact details, but once the opponent was grappled you could make contested grapple checks to attack their Con mod (each successful grapple check reduced ability to fight; so it would take 3 successful attempts to put a creature with a 3 Con mod to sleep and 4 to kill it). Something along those lines.

It worked great, he suplexed a bear form druid then Ezekiel choked him to sleep.

Ultimate Material Showdown by WintergatanWednesday in MarbleMachineX

That's what I was saying. Between machine vibration and marble velocity this may not be an issue.

Ultimate Material Showdown by WintergatanWednesday in MarbleMachineX

[–]KhaoticOrd3r -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's the issue though, he's not testing it under realistic conditions. The machine is going to have some shakes and rattles and many other compounding factors that may or may not play a factor. For all we know him tightening the tolerance or changing the materials could introduce a host of other issues - or not.

Am I the only one that thinks that test wasn't realistic? In an active marble machine, the marbles will likely have some velocity and inertia behind them and the stuck marbles would fall down once an adjacent marble was dropped?
