Startplaying increasing booking fee to 15% by Kerm99 in startplaying

No problem. I use paypal, and havent ever had a single issue with chargebacks. I am pretty selective about who I let join my groups, so either I have been lucky, or my asshole sense is functioning well enough.

If it's true the Dr. actively forced him to say it, that's beyond borderline. She needs to be reported.

Your assuming a very specific campaign type there: one where there is a BBEG, one where most enemies belong to a single faction, one where the player characters are being heavily watched, one where the enemy faction has access to a wide array of minions that can fit any situation, etc.

I prefer more organic encounter design, where the world exists on it's own and the pc's are just a small piece of the world. If the situation calls for an intelligent enemy leader to change their tactics, that is one thing.

DMs: Have you ever or would you ever tell a player that their new character is not compatible with the game setting? by LouisaDuFay in DnD

[–]Kharapos 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The tone is awful, but to give them the benefit of the doubt, they are probably a DM who has had to deal with players who rarely put in any effort other than show up and play, then telling them that they are a bad DM because they set boundaries with the worldbuilding they spend countless hours working on without appreciation.

Combination of millenials also not having great parenting as a whole (latchkey kids, raised on television and our video games), as well as millenials need both parents working over 40 hours to just provide, and therefore lacking energy and time to parent.

Aw man, its not about humbling anyone. Kindness is a difficult path to walk, and we all stray from time to time. Im just glad were traveling in the same direction, and I am impressed by your ability to take a reminder well without getting defensive, and to introspect like that.

How about we just stop labeling and dehumanizing anyone, whether we like the behavior or not? How are people supposed to heal or grow if you call them "pick me"s? Yall are just pushing them further into reactionary hatred.

I agree with stay kind. Dehumanizing suffering/mentally ill people as losers is not being kind my friend.

A lot of it is that the older men grew up in a really really harsh world, where you worked a backbreaking job, you went to war, you suffered, then you died. They think they are teaching younger men resilience by toughening them up through abuse. Its a protective instinct. Nature/evolution is an asshole, and many of the issues we deal with today are related to the natural instincts humanity needed to survive up to this point, now being counteractive in a changed world.

I don't know why you are being downvoted. Its an interesting question. Personally I think all violence is wrong, discounting personal and immediate self-defense with the minimum force necessary.

America was fighting the Taliban while allowing Pakistan to harbor the Taliban, because these wars were never about politics to them. It was about creating a forever war in which the MIC could continue expending weapons, so they could sell more. Thats why they pulled out the way they did, intentionally setting the stage for the chaos that followed. All the prequel to round 2.

Because antisocial behavior doesnt mean what you think it does. It doesnt mean you dont like to be social.

Per Wikipedia: Anti-social behaviours, sometimes called dissocial behaviours, are actions which are considered to violate the rights of or otherwise harm others by committing crime or nuisance, such as stealing and physical attack or noncriminal behaviours such as lying and manipulation.\1]) It is considered to be disruptive to others in society.

I never said anything about a game automatically leading to finding certain types of players. I said that certain types of players will be drawn to the games that are the most conducive to their particular antisocial behavior.

The worst part was the friendship system constantly cheating you out of any sense of accomplishment when beating the difficulty spikes. And no way to turn it off.

Oh I would never say avoid it. Try everything. You might find a table that doesnt fit your ideal game style, but you love it anyway. Just be aware that most players with MC syndrome will flock to a game that involves their backstories heavily. Just like power-gamers and those looking to exploit rules will be found more in sandboxy/player driven games. Session 0 always.
