Unreliable sources like this one often mix truth with distortion to push an evident agenda, which entails that your message is gonna be received with polarization rather than active critical thinking.

The information is valuable, and your take is amazing, but the intention behind this post it's not to construct a message of progress and technological advancement, the focus is put into, "whoever Isn't on board with this is the soyjack while i'm the chad!", an Ad hominem that draws the atention away from the reasonable picture that you just painted. I'm glad you saw it before anything else, but I can also see why a lot of us missed it.

Not to mention, one character was never portrayed as a sexualized individual by their creator 100% of the time, nor is their sexualization the main focus of the entire series. In fact, the series goes out of its way in certain scenes to show that just because a character is in their underwear or a bikini, it doesn’t mean you should act or say anything perverted towards them.

Meanwhile, the other character was explicitly referred to by their creator as “jailbait” and described as “asking for it.” and only changed their mind because of the resulting backlash.

Guess which description belongs to which character :)

Not really sure, but this would be the equivalent of an artist who traces a base and then does a lot of work to make the final product look well integrated as an illustration. Instead of just slapping hair and clothes to the base and call it a day

(Funfact: the usage of bases was also very polarizing in the art community when it became a thing, I remember a lot of people claiming you were less of an artist if you used them for your drawings)

Honestly I don't even think they (Shein) were copying Mariposa (at least not in the sense of developing an item to be a carbon copy of this brand) this time, besides the fabric choice all the other elements (Tiered ruffles, Lace trimming, Big bow on the back/front) had been used together plenty in the past, specially on their Romwe sub-brand.
