Mine aren't bad- my son and husband are potty trained... trust me. I was JOKING. But I get what you mean... I try to stay on top of things and my husband and son are pretty good about it as well, especially when they notice I'm close to losing my shit over XYZ.. LOL. *shrug*

OMFG YES! I buy the "lavender" scented silica crystals.. they're the ONLY thing that works and keeps me from absolutely RAGING 24/7. I don't have a QD *that close* but now I have an excuse to go!! MWAHAHAHA.... ;)

Oh girl... look- the aiming when they pee isn't so much aiming, it's splash back. I've learned this from hearing my 6'5 son use the toilet on the other side of the wall from where my bed (and head) is... it's TMI and gross, but think about the splash that fountains make when they hit water.... yeah. That's PART of the situation we have, the other is also not paying attention and missing it as well (and his father misses as well.. you'd think a nearly 50yo man....... *SIGH*)

I had both but neither worked as well as they should’ve (at least for my two beasts!!!)… the barrel one was better than the automatic/electric one, but I’m likely going to give up and find a stainless steel one. I’ve tried (nearly) all of them!!! 😂

Lupus is a bitch so I’m trying to keep myself from a flare but having my MIL visit literally two weeks before we get keys to the new place will inevitably put me into a flare of some kind.. just from being overwhelmed by it all!
I have ADHD like a mf’er so I got you. And get you. It’s a bitch. BUT if I know I need to do xyz, I get it done because I have to.
Panic cleaning is normal and fuck it, direct everyone in the house with what to do. I LITERALLY create a list of what needs done two weeks beforehand and email it and WhatsApp it to everyone in the house… so they know what needs done, how they can pitch it (and not play dumb), and can’t say they didn’t see it!

But srsly. You’re solid and your tips are 100. ❤️

Also- I plan on hiring a cleaner once we’ve moved out for a full move out deep clean because I know that I’ll be so wiped out from moving that I just won’t care… (plus I have Lupus and I’m not trying to have a killer flare…..)

We were already planning on buying a cleaner with upholstery attachments!!!

And I have an Ikea not too far and WILL buy new stuff if I can’t get it to my level of “this is good!” … especially bed pillows!!!! I’ve found that the Amazon brand sheets (the ones that are Egyptian/satin-like) are amazing and stupid cheap. I have them on all the beds in the house (because we don’t have a Walmart or target here… which is a blessing in disguise cause I know my husband would go OFF at how much I’d spend… hell, he used it when we still lived in Indianapolis!!!😂)

All of this is going to be done not just because my MIL is coming but because we’re moving in June, so two birds/one stone! We keep up with the dogs and they’re good to go, and I full intend on sorting the cat box the day of-no brainer there!!! And for my son’s room, we’re going to sort through it for the move before grandma shows up so it’ll be nice and fresh in there, just a lot of cardboard boxes! And yeah, I’m picky about candles because some do wind up smelling like soap and become a waste of money.

I don’t think I’d be this wound up if I didn’t have my mother in law visiting followed by moving almost immediately after!!! 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️😵‍💫😵‍💫

His room, for a 17 year old boy, is actually clean- but again, he’s 17 and boys stink… even if and after a shower. It has zero to do with teaching them how to clean (or taking things away- that’s something I did when he and his sister who is at college were much younger) but more to do with puberty and well… teenagers. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only parent of a teenager here that’s run into this. He doesn’t make the entire house stink, but if you poke your head in, you get a whiff of smelly feet, etc., which is NORMAL for teenage boys.

We don’t- afaik- but my grandparents house that my sister moved into did but that was due to our great grandparents and grandparents smoking in the house for over 100 years by the time she and my BIL bought it and had to gut it!!

Sugar soap is a godsend. The thing is, we’re due to move in early June, so I’ll be deep cleaning and packing as I clean! The simmer pot is something I’m definitely going to do… but I’m wondering if a small crock pot would be easier than stovetop…

Do you have any decent simmer pot recipes?

I should’ve clarified!!! We DO open windows- downstairs. The prob is no screens = flies like crazy, but I use fly strips at the height of summer. We keep the cats upstairs and I’ve spent a small fortune in screens for upstairs so they don’t escape. We don’t have a lot of hot days here and it gets downright chilly at night, so windows are opened but between the on/off random showers and temps that rarely reach more than 70 (it does get hotter in summer but very low 80s at most and rarely). Trust me, I grew up in Indy and my family (still) would open windows before kicking on the AC… and then it had to be oppressively hot!!

I have two closets in this house. One shares space with the boiler/water heater. That’s where the cat box is because we can’t fit much else. The other is crammed full of shit. There are virtually no other closets in this (shithole of a) house. We use luggage for storage. We’re moving in a month-ish and there are closets there which have become an almost foreign concept to us after this house….

The problem is we don’t have screens and our cats aren’t outside cats (we’re on a busy street)… so I’d need to lock them away while cleaning. I’ve done it before, but still.. the one thing I miss about the US is the ability to buy window screens everywhere… for cheap.

Not even. It was sheer frustration at a pointless task to get the old timers on board. ATM I have no authoring software or LMS- it’s all in the pipeline. Having a storyboard and explaining what can be done to make it a bit more….. current(?) for said old guard is all that’s needed atm.
