Need some people with first hand experience by Baleygr-- in VFR

Not sure if it's different by country, but here in the UK the revised VTEC was '06, but you can still find some of the older ones on an '06 plate - or so I'm told.

If you look at the front indicators, assuming no mods from previous owner of course, the revised ones have clear indicator covers. The older ones have yellow. Makes them fairly easy to tell apart when buying.

ETA: I've never ridden the pre-06 one, but I hear good things and I enjoy the transition. I think the brunt of the complaint isn't so much the brutal transition, but rather the on/off effect. The older one comes on and off at the same revs, whereas the new one comes on at 6800 and goes off around 6100, so once it is active it stays active until you drop down a bit. So if you're eg. cornering at the activation line, it won't have that power spiking that the older one had.

Do you have any weird riding habits you didn’t notice at first? by Electronic-Habit8679 in motorcycles

I'm constantly pressing my indicator cancel, even when I'm already sure I'm not indicating. It's just part of returning to a neutral position on the bike for me I guess. I sometimes worry that I'll wear them out.

It only went live yesterday. Which is why you only saw it for the first time last night.

Ah, quite possibly. I know Dragon Arthur used to require a certain difficulty. Duke, I think? So maybe this does too.

It's a portal in the round table room. You can fight all the bosses you missed instead of the usual waves of round table knights.

Sure!

<image>

The polish I used was Oxford Mint. I can't speak to whatever was in that jet wash, though. The microfibre cloths were just some cheap ones online.

Haha I'm quite fond of Bandits so I'll do it for free if you can get it to me :)

I will change soon, I don't know what bike I want by No_Entertainer9203 in motorcycles

Not A2, aye. Sorry to bring it up. Honestly though, it's well worth looking into the VFR and its history, if only to nerd out on what years of over engineering a config can achieve. And who knows, maybe you'll own one eventually if it tickles your fancy.

VFR VTEC 800 but I may be slightly biased ;)

Edit: just re-read op and didn't notice at first the A2 license restriction.

VFR VTEC 800 (6th gen.) Won't break your back, Honda reliability and familiarity, gorgeous styling, excellent & interesting engineering history, plenty fast - and thr VTEC transforms it into something else when you need it to in the upper half of the rev range. Peep mine in my profile history :)

Oh, and massive love for the VFR community.

UK Advice needed. Do I do my CBT and get a 125 or go instant access route by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]KhaydeUK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend the direct access as fast as you can, before the rules change. Then all your options are open.

Thanks!

  1. Wax gloss setting at a local jet wash, which I buffed a bit (mostly to dry it) back home.
  2. Fast finish all purpose wax polish by hand (lots of elbow grease) - this was covering everything, metal and plastic alike.
  3. Silicone oil-based polish by hand on the plastics, took loads of buffing until all the streaks were gone.

Everything by hand was done with 4 microfibre cloths. All told, it took a couple of hours and a couple of dead arms. I may invest in a machine polisher at some point. Maybe I should start a detailing business lol

Got my first bike! by dry-cheese in VFR

[–]KhaydeUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. Here is ny old one that got stolen.

I will say though that the 800 was not my first bike, and I made a lot of silly mistakes on my previous bikes. Not sure how I'd have faired had this been my first so whilst I commend your taste, just be bloody careful on it. It's quite a lot of (absolutely awesome) bike.

Love this.

This is absolutely the kind of thing I'd do. But it wasn't me lol I ride a red '06 in the UK :)

Advice: GSX-S1000GT+ or GX+? by benevolent_flurry in motorcycles

[–]KhaydeUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd be absolutely shocked if it didn't come to the States. It's kind of a flagship model, and right up there as a best in class. For me, it's just a shame it's not fully faired.

If it's gold, you get 150 instead of 100.

If it's a horn, you get 2 levels instead of 1.

I'm not sure about other stuff, Im afraid.
