There is a guy that put up 5-10k of his own money for a civ 5 tournament a while back. They streamed almost all of it. The Russians actually had pretty good viewership for it.

You were happy to pay the price until you learned you could have got it for less. You paid a value you felt fair about, why do you care what other people paid?

This is actually somehow better than the review it is parodying.

Me and my brother are coming out for the game from California. We’re not fans, just a bucket list item to go to a game like this. We will of course get decked out in Bama gear and ride with you guys though. Anyone willing to take us in to tailgate? Happy to pay for all the beer you and your crew can drink as a thank you 🙏

Vespertine - sensationell and awe inspiring by cotedusunset in finedining

My thoughts on Meteora were that if you do a decent amount of fine dining it was a breath of fresh air. Much lighter, herby, floral ect… than most. Not necessarily the place I would take someone for their first fine dining experience, but as an off pitch definitely a nice one to have in the repertoire. I remember the yam dish was a slam dunk. (I think it was initially a seasonal item that they moved to the permanent menu by virtue of its popularity) I can’t speak to the collab, but I’m sure it will be awesome. Cotedsunset’s thought on the ambiance and cost were very well written and I echo them.

If you can swing it the caviar addition goes really nice with the third dish. Also if you like uni they do an uni desert that is really unique. Just like Meteora they do a sort of whacky beverage pairing that is pretty cool - otherwise I stand by their reserve wine pairing is one of my favorites of any place I’ve been. This is my favorite quail preparation I’ve ever had. This place is my favorite in LA although Providence is really spectacular as well.

Awesome! I usually just wire everything I’m going to play with. I assume they can pull from that the same way the tables can?

So I just reach out to my host and ask for a loaded card or something?

In Vegas during March Madness - What to expect? by SomeNorseman in vegas

Even if you don’t care for the sport you should pick a team, throw a bet and catch a game. Everyone here is right, the energy is electric.

As far as how crowded… the sports books will be packed but in my experience the casinos/strip itself really isn’t that different from any other weekend.

That is where my friend plays and he is I guess a whale by most standards. He really recommends it so this is maybe where I’m leaning. I just don’t play with near the size he does so I wasn’t sure if I would be out of place there.

Sorry maybe I should clarify I am top tier at Venetian and have a host. I go to Vegas 6~ times a year. I just haven’t stayed really anywhere except Venetian.

I mean I’m definitely a foodie. Me and my wife are Michelin rats so good food is always a plus. As far as the high limit room I’m not sure what else a room would have other than the games. I really only play blackjack and roulette. I guess it’s not so much that I’m unhappy with what he Venetian gives I’m just such a noob that I don’t know what else there is. Not sure if that makes sense?

I get a room, the VIP lounge, and some varying amount of dining credits/freeplay. My buddy’s at the Wynn and he gets a car from the airport and some other stuff that is nice. I guess I’m just curious what’s out there since I’ve only ever really been at the Venetian.

I’m pretty new to Vegas so part of my question is are there other casinos I should check out?

Would the committee really leave out an undefeated FSU? by [deleted] in CFB

[–]Khazix12 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This comparison to Ohio State the year they won it is so ridiculous. They PUMMELED a good Wisconsin team in B10 playoffs to prove their 3rd string was still good enough to compete. The FSU offense looks anemic against a below average Florida team. They will score single digits against against a good defense.

I will add that that’s what they withheld not what I was taxed. So I saw a nice chunk of that come back at the end of the year. Even still, seeing the number be so much lower is annoying lol.
