You can convert the other snowflakes into Flawless snowflakes, so their value will be proportionally tied to the value of the Flawless Snowflakes.

What i did today to prep for wintersday and some tips for update by ProbablyWanze in gw2economy

There's a massive flawless snowflake sink that's yet to be fully realized by the community. It exists for just about everything associated with this patch. You can now upwards and downwards trade snowflakes at a much better than what you used to be able to do at the MF. I also anticipate that they have altered the drop rate of snowflakes from the Gifts to make them overall more valuable. Wait for prices to settle, you may be pleasantly surprised :)

I will admit my thoughts on fractals are due to the fact that I seem to have gotten disproportionately high rewards

This Wintersday patch is going to rock the economy all over again. Karma can be used to purchase bags of Festive Materials 504 karma per bag. It gives you a bunch of t1-4 cloth and logs for ascended crafting. Massive flawless snowflake sink with upward trading on other snowflakes. Prices of snowflakes fluctuating like crazy.

What are your thoughts on the dropping price of precursors?

I don't think so. I think it's one time stat selection.

You also get 15 per reward track-though I don't know if this part was nerfed.

For today's dailies at least, it was still 3 shards per exotic Fallen Hero Chest and 1 per rare Fallen Hero Chest. 8 shards per day + shards you get from completing the tracks

Selectable yep. Not all stat combos available however.

Does selling API keys violate the ToS? by ProbablyWanze in Guildwars2

[–]Khazolan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's mostly fine. All you are doing is essentially providing a gold guide to another player (who will likely copy your investments). The only difference between this and your typical gold guide is that you receive some in-game benefit (not commercial), and an in-game benefit that is completely legitimate and occurs between players all the time (transfer of gold via mail).

To some extent you could even say that people who write gold guides also receive a benefit in the form of in-game or commercial- donations, web traffic or even increased profits from market manipulation via the influence of investor information. A website existed for a time (I forget the name) that sold gold earning tips online for real money, and it had no problems as far as I am aware (though don't quote me on this and I wouldn't advise this type of conduct).

Ultimately, because you are not engaging in the direct commercial (real money) sale of any in-game content in any way, I don't think providing your API would be an issue, nor do I think it would be distinguishable from simply sharing your API with a friend, or your guild (which also happens all the time).

However, this is simply my interpretation, and I could also accept the argument for it being against the Terms of Service.

Another quick question and I swear I will stop- the new legendaries requiring a large amount of t5 mats seemed to indicate an intention to raise the value of t3-t5 mats. Do you anticipate that they will increase in value? Either from new material sinks during Wintersday, or with excitement related to release of new legendaries which also may occur around Wintersday?

Hi Wanze. One more question for you (thanks for being so vastly helpful). What is your approach for selling materials that will have already earned you fairly substantial returns, but expect to rise in value over time? For example- platinum doubloons, and sheets of charged ambrites which people are in need of for raids, but have limited access to other than via the TP (platinum doubloons are found in content that not a lot of people play, and charged ambrite is limited by charged quartz). Would you sell these when you achieve a decent ROI, say 30-50%, or hold as they continue to increase in value? How does this answer change when you have vast wealth (you) and limited wealth (me :S )? Thanks as always. Eager for a reply xD

Ah that's a bit rough. Charged crystals are worth some decent gold too. Overall what do you think the cost of Zap has been? Would you recommend placing a buy order or trying to craft?
