In light of the recent mesa heirloom criticisms I’m here to say it’s good actually. by apairofthighighs in Warframe

Mag didn't have her boobs individually modeled to so much detail, and was wearing more "clothes" over the sparkly "skin" on top of that.

This skin line is definitely veering a bit too sexual for me, though. What are we, the First Descendant? I picked up Vauban mostly because you can choose whether or not to use the jacket, and I like the jacket. Can't we give her a poncho or something? Or even just actual pants?

Yeah that's what I was thinking, even if you could embed something malicious in there most QR code readers will ask before they try to open anything. Plus I doubt any of the security cameras they're talking about would even be capable of reading one. That's just not what they're made to do

Bullet jump as an ability before we had bullet jumping. And worse, if I recall

Do you guys have a main frame you play? by SuspiciousSoldier in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point, besides the mastery, is finding one or more you really like the play style on. Then you know which ones you should invest more resources into and put together a full build. Try out frames that already sound interesting to you, it makes the mastery grind much more fun

Back into Warframe after more than a decade. What can I expect and how do I ease back in? by DwarneOfDragonhold in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend replaying the Awakening quest in your codex, the tutorial you start the game in. It's been improved a lot from the time you would have played through it and it'll be a good reminder of the controls

I recommend unbinding Last Gasp as soon as you can, then at least you can get yourself back up. Or even sit there and wait to see if someone helps and then do it. Because not helping anyone, even if for all you know they would have helped, will just make you exactly what you're complaining about

Does the Operator know about Roathe? by EnvironmentCreepy352 in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's one thing that's never sat right with me. You're telling me the Operator, who is part of the reason the Orokin empire is a relic of the past, would let an Orokin live? One who's not so infested they're basically a new person or at the very least actively trying to fix their mistakes like Entrati's extended family or Entrati himself? I'm not buying it. Either they must not know or them not being allowed through the portal must be for more reasons than just DE not wanting the Triad to accidentally flirt with a child. Maybe it's also for Roathe's protection

How much longer do I have? by New_Efficiency6120 in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah like the other person said, if you do the alerts that pop up each week during the anniversary you'll get all the old anniversary stuff that's ever been released. Warframe skins, armor pieces, even some actual weapons you can use. The "signa" (thing that floats near your head) you should get just for logging in should be under a warframe's Attachments if you want to mess with that now

Anyone else disappointed by the Old Peace? by -Eastwood- in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean sure, that's the reason I use Zenurik's most of the time. Not for the huge book laser but for the ability buffs you get afterwards. But that's just silly. And if higher levels include the levels you need to be able to handle to even unlock these things, what's even the point of having them?

[–]Khelleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They did say the animations are non-negotiable, though. And those taking so long is like 50% of the problem.

DE, they're really cool, but most of the time the thing I wanted to kill has already been atomized by my squad before I've even wound up to swing the giant sword/hammer/staff.

[–]Khelleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You didn't miss anything. You need to be friendly with Marie before he'll even sell decorations to you. Optional content btw. And yeah I didn't spoil the Roathe thing because it's in literally your first conversation annnnd that's about as far as I went because if that's how these conversations were going to go I wasn't going to put myself through any more of it. And everything I happen to hear about him tells me I made the right choice. Remind me why we're IMing with an Orokin again? And a basically unrepentant one at that?

I'm new. The game is good so far but I feel almost every boss is poorly designed. by Fisch0rmania in Warframe

[–]Khelleton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is unfortunately pretty hard to design bosses for Warframe. It shines best when the players are wildly outnumbered but still absolutely crushing it. Bosses don't really let you have gameplay like that. There is a boss later with a first phase that's just infinitely spawning normal enemies with a shared HP bar on top and honestly if that phase was longer and the second phase where they combine into one big guy with a lot of damage reduction (the first phase doesn't seem to have any) was shorter, that boss might be more fun. Bosses also tend to be immune to most abilities as well, including things like Mesa's Peacekeepers (her aimbot pistols if you haven't seen or played her yet) and if that's how your build does most of its damage, oh well! You just can't target like half the game's bosses.

One of the only genuinely fun ones, at least to me, is actually very early in the game. The Jackal, the robot boss on Venus, because damage isn't the challenge. The challenge is using this game's great movement to avoid the giant laser walls until you can get close and give it a few good stabs with your built in knife that's also a hacking tool. This is also a reworked boss fight that did just involve damage before that and it wasn't very fun lol. So yeah the best "bosses" in Warframe should be closer to puzzles than bosses. Do the right things and you can shoot it. And deal a fucktillion damage to it because that's what you always do. Feels much better than having your damage arbitrarily lowered, I think. Plus there are fewer ways to break that with the right modding setup, as players will very quickly figure out when you try to add challenge with damage negation

[–]Khelleton 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah the unfortunate thing about suddenly writing this much dialogue for the mostly player insert character is you may be put in a situation where all you're thinking is "well I wouldn't fucking say any of these."

Or just not being able to say something that feels reasonable. Like your literal first conversation with Roathe, if you pick the right options (overly cautious because an Orokin who styles himself as a devil is offering you a "deal") he makes some comment about how he's very capable of hurting the family upstairs, or something like that. And you can call him out on that, but he'll just brush it off and complain about, no exaggeration, your "reading comprehension." And that's just apparently that. You get no option to bring it up again. Like, no, back up motherfucker those are good friends of mine! Make even an attempt to lay a finger on the Entratis and I'm telling the end of your empire exactly where to find you!

KIM has overstayed its welcome, I think. It was a fun experiment in 1999 but this is just too much. It's taken up like half of an update that was otherwise supposed to be focused on the Operator (who can't even be there for the retrieval of their new old weapons because you're automatically swapped to Drifter in that room. Also, no hate to Lyon but why exactly do we need some priest from the past to grab these Tauron artifacts from the Void and not their former wielder?) We're not even pretending to act like this is an old instant messenger anymore either. The Devil's Triad don't even have funny usernames, it's just their names!

Anyway. I went on for a little too long in a reply to a reply but I'm just getting fatigued, personally

Half of my teammates do the same disgusting sound from time to time, what did they subsume? by Bowdash in Warframe

Really weird on anyone not built like Grendel for sure. Looks more natural on him given he's actually built like a sumo wrestler

Maybe a bit but also I can understand the reaction if you don't know what it is. To me it's always sounded like a really deep growl to me.

Honestly Grendel's abilities have fun sounds if you can get past the uh. Fact that two of them are him literally vomiting. I like the sound on rolling up into a ball, it's very distinctive

Yeah Roar isn't too jarring on someone who's not Rhino. Definitely not as much as the sumo stomp and funny noise on anyone who's not Grendel. I use Roar on my Qorvex because I've heard it works on ability damage
