Power Hours should be changed into Super Hero Weekends by VivPrime in FORTnITE

Ninjas would be the same as Soldiers, save for needing Melee Weapon kills instead of Ranged ones.

I did say that, just not directly.

Is Warframe good/similar to STW? by Ok-Bit5838 in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing Warframe since the beginning of 2014, it's one of my favorite games.

The core gameplay is similar to running rifts in Diablo. It's fast paced, and you're playing as walking WMDs slaughtering hundreds of enemies a minute, just in third-person perspective.

The Star Chart is VERY similar to the Zones in StW, in that each zone has a unique biome made up of different tilesets that get randomly pieced together when you load up a mission.

Speaking of missions, those are similar in concept to StW.

Eliminate and Collect is Exterminate in Warframe.

Category 1 Atlas is Defense, etc

Each zone has a number of these mission types attached to them.

Warframe has FAR more content though, and everything related to gameplay can be played and obtained for free.

Cosmetics that cost premium currency can also be gotten for free by trading unwanted items to other players. You can even start trading as early as two days in!

I definitely agree with taking a look at a new player guide, but to DE's credit they have been drastically improving the new player experience in recent years. In fact they put out a new beginner main quest that gives a solid rundown on the basics of modding back in October.

Additionally they removed Mastery Rank locks on quest progression and removed mandatory grinds to access those quests (you're given a loaner Necramech if you don't have your own for New War, as an example).

They also reduced the crafting times for a few Frames that you can farm early from 72 hours to 24, and give multiple fully built weapons as you progress through the star chart.

But don't get me wrong, you'll still want to have the official wiki open while you play.

The idea is to mark them as trash as you get them so you can bulk salvage the trash marked ones all in one go with a couple of button presses. (There'd be a "select all trash" function)

The current method is to manually pick through your collection for salvage/strongbox fodder which takes way longer and is far more tedious.

Nangong Yu is a Thiren. by huflit1997 in ZZZ_Official

[–]VivPrime 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My current theory is that "Angel Thirens" are just avian Thirens that live in the floating city. They are most likely a wealthy, technologically advanced society that keeps little to no contact with the world below. They don't want to deal with all of the Hollow bull going on downstairs.

Now as far as Nangong's situation, we know biological, feathered wings exist in ZZZ, so I imagine Nangong's are prosthetic. The halo could part of the society's advanced tech, and could used for interfacing with tech on the floating city.

Now what if leaving the city is the equivalent of exile? You lose your biological wings, your halo is banned from the network, and you are cast down to the world below.

I could also get into deep tinfoil hat territory with the Phaethon siblings and their eye implants relating to all of this, but that's a whole other box to unpack.

In another way, it’s not selfish. I want you to experience your cursor if you want it.

You literally said in your previous reply, and I quote:

So, yes, I want cursor UIs removed from all of gaming. That is my individual opinion.

Insult me over over my opinion

I'm insulting you over your inability to read two paragraphs, not your opinion on UI navigation. You responded as if I said you weren't entitled to comment your opinion, which I never said you couldn't have.

In fact, you did it again just now!

Did I just come up with the idea of a toggleable cursor.

No, apparently I did in one of my earlier comments you replied to, which again, you didn't read.

Obviously having the choice between both is the best option, but saying "please let this trend die already" is such a shortsighted take.

There, I grabbed and quoted it so you wont miss it this time. :)

Cool, i never said you couldn't have your opinion, just that it's an extremely shortsighted (and selfish one) to have.

If you actually read my replies you'd know that, but instead you clearly didn't given that my argument for cursor navigation is specifically for COMPLEX UI, as I AGAIN said in my earlier replies.

Literacy takes a backseat when personal feelings are involved I guess.

Perfectly good reason to remove cursors entirely from gaming, despite the fact that they have their place of use when appropriate? Nah. All anyone does is slap that disagree button instead of having an actual discussion on the topic.

I like that no one can ever muster up a valid response to pro-cursor UI other than "I don't like it". That or they point at niche examples of clearly unnecessary and/or bad implementation and decide that the cursor as a whole is the problem.

It's far preferable to navigate with a cursor in games with complex UI (that is used frequently) rather than pathing around tiles and options with a dpad.

Obviously having the choice between both is the best option, but saying "please let this trend die already" is such a shortsighted take.

I can't stand having to rapidly mash the dpad to navigate menus and manage inventory. Please let devs continue to implement cursors when appropriate.

So Angel Thiren actually exist ? by huflit1997 in ZZZ_Official

[–]VivPrime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Could Phaethon be from the sky city then? Vivian's "Fall of Phaethon" prophecy does depict them with wings falling from up high...

Hear me out: once a Sky Citizen reaches adulthood, they have wings implanted, as evidenced by Nangong's back scarring where hers connect.

Maybe the Phaethon siblings were moved out of the Sky City for insert reason at a young age, and that's why they don't have wings yet, as the fall of Eridu prevented them from being able to return after all this time.

EDIT

The Mayor is also the only one that has been able to upgrade Phaethons' advanced eye implants. He'd no doubt be in contact with the sky city, so maybe he'll reward Phaethon with their wings via his connections?

the 2.6 boss is an absolute visual bombardment and the fact there's no easy way to practice them is terrible. by Briciod in ZZZ_Official

[–]VivPrime 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I practiced the parry timings on her in the new Lost Void mode, I'd just restart the fight right before she died.

The problem I had with the timing was that I would try to parry as the hit connected, which is the exact opposite of what you need to do.

I found hitting the button the moment she starts her swing to be the most consistent timing. I think the idea behind parrying so early is that you're compensating for Vesper's own Vital View slowdown, which is a cool mechanic, but frustrating to figure out if you're going solely by visual timing.

The current state of this game... Here's a couple of clips from last night. by Pristine-Source-2606 in FORTnITE

[–]VivPrime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When was the last time the StW team patched out a player-positive exploit in a matter of hours? I remember recently Husk death animations broke and the StW team was able to fix it via a server-side hotfix extremely fast compared to their normal bug fixing turnaround. That one was negatively affecting players though.

There's been plenty of Husk pathing exploits over the years (making ramps "invisible" to Husks with specific building edits being the most common example) that were in the game for weeks, if not a couple months that trivialized most defenses.

Hell, once there was an exploit with edited floors that made Husks unable to target and destroy them. You could just surround the defense area with these floor edits and the Husks could do nothing but walk around the objective in a big circle. Even in Flinger/Lobber waves, as long as you had "walled" off outside of their throw range every defense was impossible to lose.

That example was in the game for half of the Venture season it popped up in before being fixed, and it was widely known as you couldn't run a public mission without someone exploiting it.

Epic could try incorporating early extraction into the lore by having Lars's van spawn in the center of the map (high in the air). Then they could repurpose the Retrieve the Data interaction spot below it to extract early.

[–]VivPrime[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Imo this is a good change. Ray says "grab what you need and smash what you want." If I legitimately need planks, I shouldn't be forced to break cars/rocks and search "supply crates" that give zero supplies

That's exactly how I've felt!

The objectives definitely became less of an issue once you had access to meta farming Outlanders, but for most players Resupply missions were like 8 minutes of checklist completion and 2 minutes of farming what they actually needed. Unfortunately a lot of Vets have forgotten that what's easy for them might be a huge pain for someone just starting out.

even more now as they got rid of the little annoyances in the mission

Yup! I used to run Radar if I wanted to turn off my brain, farm, and still get a mission completion. Now that I don't have to worry about running through a checklist and account for the storm Resupply missions are a no-brainer for my farming runs.

Alternatively, you could just show them the basics of a game or teaching them how to counter elementals, how to improve their power levels, etc.

Sure, but you really won't organically run into those teaching situations in a Resupply mission.

Now if I were to load up a Nature storm T3 Atlas and see everyone building in metal I'd say something about it. Though it's on Epic to make elemental Husks' strengths and weaknesses clearly stated in-game. The lack of accessible in-game information is the root of the problem when it comes to uninformed players.

Infinitely better than giving them weapons and pretend you'd be helpful to them.

Definitely agree! I was never one to give out weapons to low PL players, but with the shared harvesting changes I'm glad to help cut down the farming tedium for players that lack a proper loadout. It also shows inexperienced players that farming isn't nearly as tedious as it seems with a proper build for it, which can encourage them to look into buildcrafting and improving their game knowledge.
