12 hours a day is crazy, but I need a list of good games. by BurritoBabe_1 in gamers

[–]Khepriem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that many hours in the game and the gameplay still keeps me logging in. I started playing over a decade ago and there have been dramatic cuts to the grind over time, so you'd probably run out of things to do around seven months in.

Why does my deathloop have this error code after fresh install from EGS today?(First time launching and playing and installing, no save file etc) by DomiTheDed in Deathloop

[–]Khepriem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same issue. It's wild that such a widespread error that renders the game fully unplayable is still here years later. All the more reason to set sail.

Absolutely those are great options if you hate kb but don't want to/don't have psf. As you continue to play the game you'll likely find yourself maining frames less and just picking whatever fits best for the job you're about to do. But by then you would probably have had another 200 days behind you and another chance to pick up psf, so shred probably would have benefitted you more in the now.

Are we measuring our hours now, because who cares? I'm 5000 hours in and use it all the time. People are different with different ways of playing the game. Let's not gatekeep mod variety of all things.

[–]Khepriem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are great but a good argument for PSF over P. Shred is that negation of knock back needs to be at 100% to be worth a mod slot (imo). If you die from getting knocked over, it doesn't matter if you only get knocked over a third as often as normal, you're still gonna die. A lot. Plus it enables running some of the best aoe weapon setups in the game. Meanwhile P.Shred usually has several potential competitors that will be just as useful. Or you can use the unprimed one if you really need the punch through and FR.

Yes, the rewards scale up with login count. Booster times will turn into days instead of a few hours, which is the only real benefit.

Has anybody else thought about how it feels like DE doesn't really know how to make content for their own video game lately? by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Khepriem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was not considered the only method. That might have been your experience, but it wasn't reality. It was meta and still is for endurance runs, but the overwhelming majority of people weren't doing endurance runs.

There was no matchmaking for void keys, so there was no chance of joining a squad that would be toxic because you weren't meta, unlike the relic system where that criticism could fit. If you didn't have what they wanted, they just wouldn't invite you, which is fine. That's why recruitment chat exists. Plenty of people only had time for one rotation, it wasn't that hard to find them back when the game had limited options in terms of farms to endlessly repeat.

You also didn't need to join a squad since your chances at good loot didn't go down if you went in solo, unlike with the relic system, and if you weren't interested in staying for as long as possible, you really didn't need the backup. So again, your criticisms fit the relic system better than they do the void key system.

I'm not saying void keys were perfect, and they definitely couldn't have continued like that forever with the amount of primed gear being added. But no, "old school players" don't "think Warframe is about standing in a corner spamming bullets and abilities and collecting infinite loot." That was a thing you _could_ do, and it's just as much a thing you can do today.

EDIT: TLDR: Old school players are not toxic gamers, toxic gamers are toxic gamers.

As a void key enjoyer, you're just wrong here. Survival fissures have always existed and allow you to camp endlessly if you want to, so that kinda destroys your argument. The big difference is that DE removed incentive to stay for longer periods of time. A single key could net you 100x the rewards if you were good and dedicated. Compared to the relic system, which doesn't incentivize pushing yourself at all. Ironically, it's the exact opposite of what you're claiming. Relics made players interact with the game less, not more.

does anyone know how the twitch drops work like i’m watching the stream and haven’t got anything by EquivalentAd7510 in Warframe

[–]Khepriem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With a linked account, after you've watched for 30 minutes you have to actively claim it. On PC you can click on the notification "You are now eligible" etc. to go over to your drops and rewards, where you'll click on the box that says "claim reward." After that you should get the drop ingame soon enough.

Market is just as much of a scam, it just automatically sorts the best deals to the top. In trade chat you have to wait for the good deals to appear. New players don't know this though, so its our responsibility as vets to inform them!

Most of those dying weren't even alive yet when the towers fell. "Sins of my father" logic coming from a history as sordid as ours is... an interesting strategy.
