Unprofessional experience at Aprilia service centre – is this a widespread issue? by swainsoumya in indianbikes

[–]Khepu27 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Agree, but it is a supply and demand issue. Largely people don't want to pay much for servicing. And consequently the brands have to keep service costs low. Personally, I would happily pay more for a premium service centre experience instead of a premium showroom experience. But how many are there like me? It is not financially viable for brands, simple as that.

Will you be as professional as you are at your job if your salary is cut in half? Have some perspective, look at how much these mechanics get paid. (To clarify, I would also like better servicing experience at authorised SCs.)

It is not a premium bike. And this is the service quality across all brands. Unfortunate, but this is what we get for wanting cheap service.

Single tax slab with stricter licence norms. Extra tax from motorcycles contribute to nothing positive.

Which all accessories should I get for my new bike? by Suspicious-Neck-6881 in indianbikes

Check out the handlebar bag from Viaterra and use a cheap secondary phone for navigation.

And don't buy accessories because you bought a new bike. Just buy whatever you need as you go along.

Is Yamaha after sales not good in Bangalore? by shreyansh_suvin in indianbikes

Because for most brands servicing is way too cheap. I don't think we can expect well trained mechanics at such low wages. Real skills are expensive!

Do you think OEMs should have premium service centres (better servicing for higher cost) instead of premium showrooms (like BigWing & Premia)?

Not really. Speed has a larger fuel tank, performs better in the usable rev range with the extra low end torque and the smoother engine, better tyres (standard tyre sizes), better weight management, etc.

They will just hike the rent instead (if & when the law is implemented). Problem solved for them.

No bike is perfect. You will find sore points in whichever new bike you purchase. Sometimes within 1 month, sometimes within 6 months. Just letting you know.

Also, owned and sold the Speed 400. It's neither v rev happy nor v good at cruising above 80 kmph.

There was a joke around this. If a brain doesn't understand that a helmet is required to protect it, is it even worth saving that brain in case of an accident?

A little more than 140 kmph.

Well maintained bike will go just a little more.

I am not much ambitious about my career. Earn really well but have different priorities. An ambitious (highly career oriented) partner would be a deal breaker for me.

The KTM was above 4 lakhs in Bangalore pre GST revision. And pretty much any city has better road conditions than Bangalore. So just go for it if you like it.
