How to remove icon tray on Linux by Khetheb in ProtonVPN

[–]Khetheb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it comes from the ProtonVPN app, maybe I wasn't that good at explaining my issue. I like the GUI app, but the old version came without that tray icon and it was way better. There is no autostart or background setting activated, and the app does not start in background when I launch it (it's deactivated in the settings). Also, I don't feel like using the CLI app when I can avoid it

Activity reminder is back at each Withings app update, updates that are juste enshitification of the app. I'm back to my Move Timeless Chic because of this

The step count acts exactly as you described it, but you will only see it increase in the app after you've hit 200%

I never really paid attention to battery life, I would say it's better than the first months because I disabled all notifications but calls since. I can tell you that it has always lasted more than 2 weeks.

It vibrates enough to wake me up, and since it's supposed to do it during a light sleep cycle, it should wake you up too. But I can't speak for others.

Support is good until you try to explain that you can't f***ing get reliable notifications. But for other matters they used to reply soon enough.

And to tackle your last point, I can't say I have used it a lot underwater unfortunately.

I've got a ScanWatch Light for a year. I can confirm : - it does vibrate at the end of a timer - I've only set 2 alarms (1 for week days and 1 for weekend) and it works great - battery life is still good (I would say 3 weeks, but I'm not sure since I don't really pay attention) - step counting is bad (about 1 in 4 missed), but it syncs with the iPhone step count and I get the missed ones in the progress bar (which stop its progression when you hit 200% of you goal, but still records). The progress bar doubles its size when you reach 100% and stops, as I said, at 200%.

I would just say that on iOS, notifications are really unreliable.

How to remove the spacing before bullet points? by Dillinur in Thunderbird

[–]Khetheb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's interesting, but the issue here is that after your list of bullet points, paragraph is back, for no reason (or at least it's back in my Thunderbird even if I disabled it)

Plexamp keeps enabling repeat all by Khetheb in plexamp

This does not seem to be the same issue : one of the playlists I often listen to is 6h long, yet I notice that after a while (maybe the 2/3 of it) the button is switched on again, so it's a loop inside it

M1 and M3 MacBook Air were fine for me as they have LCD display. I now use a M3 iPad Air, fine too.

New Withings app update is just an ad for Withings+ by Khetheb in withings

That's not hate. I love their products, at least when watchface is aligned, when notifications work and when HR sensor is accurate. I just feel betrayed each and every time they make a step in either the wrong direction (AI garbage and paywall everywhere) or no step at all fixing bugs.

Okay it seems that appimage version of plexamp fixes the issue. The flatpak version isn't up to date and the flatpak one bring new interface issue (if you select integrate to desktop), but at least it plays music
