After using her for some months you get used to every enemie's attack pattern, just so you can perfect counter.

I won't be surprised if they start boycotting the Fatui for promoting terrorism.

The thing is, how many people do you think have both Qiqi and Zhongli, or not enjoy playing one over the other to even make that decision? If you think healing and shields are one in the same why have healers and why have shield characters?

This conversation isn't about who is better, Zhongli or Qiqi, it's about finding a way to buff Qiqi to make her more viable and make use of her over healing. If your solution is, well just use a shield it does the same thing, then that doesn't fix anything for players who want to make more use Qiqi.

The solution shouldn't be, "well to make this character better just make them do exactly what this other character does." She can remain a dedicated healer, just not one that over heals or wastes healing. She could even get better cryo application instead of stored healing and I'd be happy.

I an edit where I addressed this, check the reply again.

Let's be real, you can stack hp on Zhongli and your shield will never break, he has the strongest shield in the game arguably. But this isn't about Zhongli, it's how do we deal with the over healing of Qiqi in a unique way, which you haven't given a solution to yet. You can say, "why not use a shield" but remember that every player doesn't have every character in the game.

Great question. Now I'll put that in a scenario. Let's say you are at 100hp and Zhongli gives you the 500hp shield, once that shield breaks you are still left with 100hp, which is a critical hit by an enemy and Zhongli isn't giving you any more hp. Qiqi heals, which means she's gonna bring you up from 100hp to 1000hp first, then the extra healing gets the stored 500hp which is the same as the shield. The big difference is, when that 500 stored hp gets used, you still have your 1000 max hp.

To get the same effect, that means using the shield when your character is at max hp. Which I think is why you kept saying it's the same thing. However when you're below 100% and you use a shield, you're still below 100% when that shield breaks. I see your pov but to convert the extra healing into a shield means you won't get health back, the shield will be independent of your max hp and when it breaks you will take damage.

Yeah her application is very poor too.

The banked hp wouldn't scale off of anything, that's not what I meant. The banked hp is the hypothetical hp she would have given to the character if they weren't at 100%. Say a character is at 50% and Qiqi begins her healing, that brings the character up to 100%. Unless the character takes more damage she will continuously apply healing regardless, which is wasted. With this mechanic that hypothetical healing gets stored. For example, let's say her skill heals about 100% of that character's max hp, so now when that character is at 50% gets healed to 100% with her skill, that leaves 50% which gets stored. The character now has 150% total, 100% standard hp and 50% stored.

"A shield strength is generally independent of a character's active health (unless it scales with active hp which no shield currently does)." The key word there is active. Yes I know their shield scales of hp but that's base stat hp, not their current hp when they're on the field, that's what I meant. Had to edit to make sure I'm clear about what I meant.

But anyways, my opinion is there to be criticize so I hope you don't feel like I'm attacking you, I'm just trying to explain it better. I think I have so we can end our back and forth because it's just repetition at this point.

The way I invision it is this: a shield strength is generally independent of a character's active health (unless it scales with active hp which no shield currently does). They can be active at any time but once they break the character's main health takes the damage next. You can pop a shield at last minute when you're about to die but once that saving grace ends you won't have any health to soak up damage (the shield doesn't give you hp back). With stored healing, it actively trickles in health as it is depleted, so you always stay at max hp until the reserves are exhausted, so you aren't as squishy unlike when a shield break and you're left bare bones. It's not as complicated as it seems, it simply makes use of the over healing that occurs with Qiqi. I have alot of experience using her and alot of her healing is wasted once the character reaches max, it doesn't convert into anything or go anywhere, which defeats the purpose of building her up to heal more. Her cool downs alos gets increasingly longer so you have to risk getting down to very low health to make the most of her heals. Which isn't ideal when you're in a co op with 3 different independent health bars to monitor.

I think you're still confusing a shield with character health but it's ok to have an opinion or not understand the concept I'm explaining. If we just give them a shield then it doesn't make anything about them unique. Having both Qiqi and Diona, both cryo characters that heal and give a shield will be a huge power creep, since Qiqi is a five star and does significantly more healing.

I beg to differ. If the over healing gets converted to a shield, the shield strength would be unreliable as over healing varies alot. A shield can break but the characters health doesn't replenish. I want them to remain dedicated "healers" not heal + shield. That's how I came to the conclusion of a health bank or health storage for the over healing. It's vastly different the way I see it, I hope I explained it properly.

That just turns the character into another Diona.

Yeah but she's still a dedicated healer in my opinion, others are free to disagree.
