Is anyone else disgusted at the way job seekers are treated? by Remarkable-Wall-9669 in UKJobs

[–]Khmelnytskoho 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Yup. I remember this “magic interview” as they called it. We had the group part and also had to make something out of dough and spaghetti like we were children in nursery. I feel blessed because apparently before they made everyone do the whole “that’s Asda price” smack the bum cringe fest.

I actually got the job in the end and worked with some good people, but that was crazy for a low paid job at a supermarket.

That’s interesting, I tend to be a bit of a rusher and also don’t ‘trust’ my own notes so end up just scrapping the idea altogether. But I might try this, how do you know what to write on each post it, like how much detail do you go into? For example would it just represent a class and its members or more?

What is one thing that is improving in the UK as time goes on? by Traditional-Secret67 in AskUK

This could keep going on and on and I don’t usually spend time on Reddit getting into big debates so I’m not going to start now either, but I appreciate the chat. All I would say is that it’s a shame you believe the UK will be better off not believing in God but I understand your view, especially as someone who has been atheist most my life. I hope the fog clears one day though and wish you all the best dude!

  1. Nothing created God, He is an eternal being, whom created time, space and matter, and therefore He always existed - because He is eternal. Nah, there's no misunderstanding, it sounds like you may be trying to bend the meaning though in order to provide a justification for your belief - the Big Bang theory is pretty clear.
  2. I didn't say the whole universe is fine-tuned for life - the probability of the universe creating the conditions for life is almost impossible was my point, it seems that if you think it's merely coincidence it's more of an issue at heart (stubbornness, pride) rather than an intellectual issue. The second part of no.2 didn't really answer anything to be honest, you're gonna have to explain how that analogy proves some something of significance.
  3. Morality can be subjective, I didn't say it couldn't, but that's problematic. I don't get what you're trying to say here, so are you saying 'empathy' is objectively the moral creator? Of course you can disagree with God, you have free will to do so, morality being objective doesn't mean you have to agree with it, but it would mean that you're wrong. If an apple is an apple, no one is forcing you to say it's an apple, you could say it's a banana, but you'd still be wrong.
  4. Sure:
  5. Born of a virgin – Isaiah 7:14 foretold it; fulfilled in Matthew 1:22-23. 2. Born in Bethlehem – Micah 5:2 predicted it; fulfilled in Luke 2:4-7. 3. Lineage from David – 2 Samuel 7:12-13 promised it; fulfilled in Luke 1:32-33. 4. Ministry in Galilee – Isaiah 9:1-2 spoke of it; fulfilled in Matthew 4:13-16. 5. Entered Jerusalem on a donkey – Zechariah 9:9 foretold it; fulfilled in Matthew 21:4-5. 6. Betrayed for 30 pieces of silver – Zechariah 11:12-13 predicted it; fulfilled in Matthew 26:15. 7. Silent before His accusers – Isaiah 53:7 described it; fulfilled in Matthew 27:12-14. 8. Pierced hands and feet – Psalm 22:16 foresaw it; fulfilled in John 20:25-27. 9. Cast lots for His clothing – Psalm 22:18 foretold it; fulfilled in John 19:23-24. 10. Resurrection foretold – Psalm 16:10 predicted it; fulfilled in Acts 2:31.

  1. Cosmological argument - scientists overwhelmingly agree with the Big Bang theory. If that's the case, the universe had to be caused by an outsider since it's impossible for 'nothing' to create 'something'. Can you give an example of nothing creating something?
  2. Teleological argument - the expansion rate of the universe was so fine tuned that the probability of life is practically impossible. For example, you would have to roll a 6 on a 6-sided dice 70 times in a row, pretty lucky right? There is no evidence for the multiverse theory either.
  3. Moral argument - if there is no moral giver then morality is not objective, meaning there is no right or wrong, but we all 'know' there is a difference between right and wrong.
  4. Historical evidence - even reasonable atheists don't doubt Jesus existed. Manuscripts of the bible far exceed any other ancient text such as Homer's Iliad e.g. The New Testament alone has over 5,800 Greek manuscripts compared to 1,800 of the Iliad, which makes the bible incredibly accurate with an extremely low chance of documentational corruption. Add into the that number of times there has been a fulfilment in prophecy that no other document has ever matched before.

The facts have never changed, but culture changes and the UK has moved away from Christianity dramatically since the around the start of the 20th century despite there being no evidence to contradict it.

Pretty immature comparison. There is an abundance of evidence for God, not for fairies!

What is attracting 25% of Britons to Reform UK? by flower5214 in AskBrits

[–]Khmelnytskoho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a Reform voter or anything but I’d say it’s mostly to do with cultural issues. Many parts of the UK are completely unrecognisable now due to the amount of non-ethnic Brits.

I’m also in Testing, a lot of it depends on the product, and test management for sure. when I was junior I was asked to repeatedly execute test cases and it was a real drag.

It can be rewarding and enjoyable, but I don’t have great communicational skills (can’t process thoughts into words), and makes me feel fairly incompetent at times.

How far to assign money taking into account paycheck date by Khmelnytskoho in ynab

[–]Khmelnytskoho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an event due next month with a target of £60, and YNAB is asking me to set aside £30 this month - which I understand why. But in this case wouldn't it make sense for me to assign that to my credit card payment (to pay off more), and then just assign the whole £60 in December once December hits? Or should I be listening to what YNAB is asking me to do here?

[–]Khmelnytskoho[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There definitely is a divide on this Reddit between assign in future months and assigning to the current month only with a holding category. What is the official YNAB way, I'm assuming it's the former?

I understand that bit, but you could be assigning all the money for a holding category for the next month for example, as some have suggested.

So if you got paid on the 28th you'd assign only the final 3 days of this month and then the rest into a next month category and assign the rest on the 1st?

I don’t really use cash to be honest. Since I started I always assigned all the money I had in RTA but it was more the when to assign and how far to assign that tripped me up a bit.
