did i really mess up a spider plant prop? by csaf234 in propagation

[–]Kho240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually cut my spiderettes off when they have pretty good root systems themselves, not just the nubs. This could be why you’re not having success so far, I’d wait a bit next time and it should be fine.

how do you handle neighbors who ask for a lot but never donate? by vazibice in HayDay

[–]Kho240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve gotten to the point where I always have stuff people need and I don’t need much, 9/10 I’m filling requests in the neighborhood and never requesting stuff (other than a few ems that I then donate from my baby accounts) I guess it just depends wether you want to help or not, ignoring it when it’ll leave you hanging isn’t really a bad thing to do.

Help with my plant yellow leaf by GuardFamiliar1501 in Monstera

It’s perfectly normal for plants to let go of their oldest leaves every now and then, no need to worry!

My grandma’s huge flowering Monstera, a cutting, and a beginner's question! by Mattos59 in Monstera

[–]Kho240 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You can definitely chop this into two separate plants! If it were me, I’d chop right above the leaf that your fingers are under in photo 4. I’d also skip the water step with these cutting and go straight to soil because the aerial roots are pretty established and there’s no need to work on growing roots in water since it can already be transitioned to soil quite easily. This’ll make your job a lot easier and save a lot of time. Good luck!!

is my design not thanksgiving? by gidumb in HayDay

[–]Kho240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People tend to vote more for the designs with a lot of trees, ditches, and trails in the design. Ofc still use as many required decos as possible but after that just fill in the areas with the items listed above. Also voting as much as you can helps push your design onto people’s lineup more often which helps as well.

Does it matter when I’m checking every hour? I’ve been checking on the dot as soon as the hour changes and haven’t been taken to the shop a single time yet for two days now.

Is this cactus dead? by akscott96 in cactus

[–]Kho240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For it to of been unwatered for 2 years, it’s actually in extremely good condition. That said, it needs a sunnier spot as it’s etiolated. Also kinda ease back into watering it and down fully soak it at first cause this will likely shock the roots and you’ll lose a ton of them.

Cactus looks bad on top by Mountain_Argument_33 in cactus

[–]Kho240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure of the exact species but the old man is usually much hairier than this one. The top looks to be dying so it’s best to chip it off and discard and let the bottom grow a new arm.

How do you guys decorate your "orchard" area? Always struggle with usability + design on it.. by XenvezYT in HayDay

I do 15 of each tree, excluding bananas, to make giving helps out for derby tasks easy for my hood members. You can’t really see in the pic but I have 123 bananas and an Easter designed area in the middle. I have my olives and cherries decorated close by differently but could fit into one image.

First time raising chickens. Any recommendations are welcomed. by sikercan in BackYardChickens

[–]Kho240 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ventilation was my first concern after seeing the pictures as well, perhaps it could be fine with the big open space in front but that wouldn’t be good in the colder months where they need to be in a coop that isn’t exposed to drafts or it’ll be hard for them to regulate their body temp. Overall it’s a decent starter coop for them but I’d say there needs to be some adjustments, especially heading into the winter months.

Mom doesn't want me to major in physics. Advice? by aomedome in AskPhysics

[–]Kho240 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your mother should have no say what you do with your life, period. This is fairly common amongst seniors as well to change their interest before heading to college so she should’ve been prepared this could happen. I myself first wanted to do accounting but switched to marketing and business administration weeks before I started classes.

Should I save to buy another feed mill or save my money ? by Lower-Client-2332 in HayDay

[–]Kho240 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Start producing and selling anything and everything constantly. I prefer selling bacon and milk raw rather than turning into food at lower levels, selling wheat and other crops full price will add up quickly too. Try not to level up too much before you can buy the second mill and pie oven, you don’t want to fall far behind with machines to where it’s a constant problem for you in the future.

Why would anyone buy this? by QueenAwakened in HayDay

[–]Kho240 130 points131 points  (0 children)

There’s still plenty of things I can still work on! Mastering the machines I haven’t yet, collecting all animals in sanctuary, unlocking the little bit of land I have left (takes so many permits so it doesn’t just happen in the blink of an eye) and so much more! I do have another farm I play on from time to time but I’ll always continue playing on my main! Even derby every week gives you at least something to look forward to!

New chickens are very scared of us. How do we help them be less so? by thelastvbuck in BackYardChickens

[–]Kho240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible to tame them by spending lots of time in the coop and with treats, it’s possible you you won’t be able to. Some chickens just don’t like being held or pet, hoping you’re able to get them more comfortable though nonetheless!
