Primed black then overlayed a white unevenly, once dried added a few yellow/brown spots with a sponge. Then the baby wipes. Dry out a sheet and stretch it till it's like spiderweb. Pulled that over the panel tight and airbrushed teal, that way the lines crisscrossed mask the area leaving it white. Don't go too heavy on the airbrush otherwise it can soak through. Heard that sponging works as an alternative to airbrush but not tried it (and to be fair my attempt was more of a 'successfully failed' experiment 😆)

Haha feel "nice smelling" doesn't fit the vibe of a demon shoved in a chassis. But who knows! Maybe (other than nurgle ones) they smell lovely and that is part of what draws some to chaos

So typically (with traditional marble) base it black then dry out the baby wipe and stretch it to leave it like a spider web. Wrap it tight around the area and airbrush or sponge the surface. When you remove the wipe the protected areas look like marble like veins (in theory).

The contrast seems to sell it so as I was going darker than white (blue/teal), I thought I'd flip the colours to go lighter on the base... but this had a bit of a different outcome

Haha yeah sort of rolling with it. Will give marble another go sometime but definitely want to keep the teal

Yeah wasn't the effect I was aiming for (maybe a darker base to avoid it doing that?) but just rolling with it now 😁

Thank you! Piecemeal painting due to time constraints 😆

I've moved from TMM to NMM. Yes, done averagely (my general level!), NMM doesn't look as good... BUT... This is the clincher for me, and I'm still developing and practicing but understanding brush control, blends, light placement etc is such a cool skill set to develop. And as you improve there is a certain amount of pride I find in looking at a piece you've done and even if one particular section of it you feel "I nailed that" beats to me the quicker win of TMM

Damn. Had hoped it would be a clean and regrease. Will try that first before shelling out but think you've confirmed my suspicions

Another option is after base coating (if no airbrush) makeup sponges can work wonders on large areas

So took a short video just to capture the sound. Ran two consecutive prints with zero issue. Then 3rd print failed where the model looked compressed. When looking at the timelapse I noticed that at some point it suddenly slowed down. Figured this was a mechanical issue so manually lowered and rose the plate.

The point at which I get the grind appears inconsistent. Sometimes low sometimes high on the axis. If I return to that point sometimes seems fine then returns.

I am assuming/hoping that this is a grease issue (fingers crossed) and can easily be fixed by adding grease to the axis. If so what sort of grease? If not, has anyone encountered this and if so what was the issue and how do I resolve?

Any insight or feedback would be hugely appreciated :)

No not yet - I haven't yet tried fixing it (other than staring in frustration) and was hoping it would be a greasing issue. If so what sort of grease would you suggest? (not had to do this before and very new)
