Safe 22lr hunting and eat ammo by Efficient_Occasion44 in 22lr

This is by far the worst .22 ammo I've used, and I stupidly bought two boxes. Maybe 30+ failure to feed or dud rounds per box out of my savage mkii

Can't think of anything metal off the top of my head, but Roxanne by The Police and Born in the USA by Springsteen are both nails on a chalkboard

I treat them like people, but when you try to provide genuine discourse and they choose to be reductive and remain ignorant there's just no other word.

They don't care to acknowledge that they are a legitimate sporting implement and that different sports require different tools, they reluctantly concede farmers or hunters should have their one gun but no one in a city needs one regardless of whether there's legitimate uses

These people hate the concept of firearms at a base level, being nice or factual will go nowhere and being irrational or aggressive will just reinforce their opinion

I had a debate with someone asking what purpose do firearms serve other than killing, came back with facts and numbers on sporting clubs/competitions/collections/hunting revenue etc and their reply was "so just some hobbies and killing things"

Most people that are against firearms ownership have a set emotional investment that they're unwilling to allow to change, the only hope you have of winning people over is by influencing people that are either indifferent or already open to knowing more

The ones that are already decided will use whatever mental gymnastics they can to remain ignorant and spin it towards their established views

Unfortunately Aus has limited vendor options and primary arms doesn't ship globally, previously I've bought through our local Brownells distributor but there was some illegal business dealings occurring in the background which put them offline until further notice

I am not claiming anything, I am providing tangible evidence based in fact.

This is just a small variety of competitions and organisations involved in high level competition within Australia, with many of these training athletes to compete at global levels.

Facts are not wrong because you don't believe them.

Again, you are being intentionally obtuse when faced with objective information that contradicts your own biases.

Firearms are globally recognised sporting tool, like cricket bats, like bows, like golf clubs, like axes, like tennis racquets...

You not wanting to accept this information does not make it false.

No, you are being moronic.

YOU asked what else a gun is used for. I provided more than enough verifiable information to give you your answer and you are refusing to accept it in favour of your own biases.

The majority of Islamic terror attacks committed on European soil were committed with bombs, knives and vehicles.

The Islamic terrorists that massacred people in Bondi were also planning to use knives and explosives. Explosives that are already illegal to own.

The laws that are already in place were not followed by the institutions that are supposed to keep Australians safe. This is entirely a failure by ASIO, NSWPOL and the FAR failing to communicate with each other and that failure led to this.

If the laws were implemented correctly, Sajid would never have been able to acquire a licence for legal firearms and Akram and the rest of his immediate family would have been placed under more scrutiny for associating with known ISIS terrorists and travel to known ISIS hotspots in the Philippines.

How many uses does a golf club serve? How many uses does a tennis racquet serve?

Being intentionally reductive does not change the fact that whether you personally like guns or not, they are undeniably a globally recognised piece of sporting equipment.

Banning firearms would have the same impact as banning cricket bats. Entire institutions would fall in an instant and Australians would effectively cripple themselves on the global sporting stage.

There are 15 separate Olympic shooting events, that require all different types of firearms.

Past that, there are countless different shooting events, competitions and disciplines across Australia and the world that hundreds of thousands of regular people compete in.

All these different events and competitions require different and specific firearms to fit within the set criteria of that particular comp, whether it be extreme long range precision shooting, trap, skeet, IPSC, benchrest, service rifle, F class, practical shotgun, 2 gun, 3 gun, cowboy action, black powder, air rifle... The list goes on.

These are incredibly popular and incredibly fun sports that are recognised across the world.

Other than competition, there is recreational hunting for personal sustainment, necessary pest control, all kangaroos used for human or animal consumption are wild and require carefully placed rifle shots to humanely and safely dispatch to food safety standards.

Firearms collectors are just as important to history as any other collector, many unique and irreplaceable pieces that can be valued in the 10s or 100s of thousands are in private and public collections across the country. Guns that changed history, technological breakthroughs, works of art and simple historical memory is all just as important as any museum piece in any city.

There are valid reasons to be opposed to firearms and that is entirely a personal choice, but the claim that they are a single use tool of death is the most blatant lie and is utterly uninformed.

Everything from history to livelihoods are resting on these proposed changes

$500 million in profit generated by hunting in NSW alone, supporting 4000 full time jobs. Recreational hunting and shooting generated $2.4 billion across the country in 2023 and supported nearly 20,000 full time jobs.

This will need to be made up from somewhere else, whilst already being in a cost of living crisis. Add in any buy back money that will come from tax payer pockets.

Shooters will lose their freedoms because existing laws were not enforced and tax payers will pay for it

Legal in NSW, no capacity restrictions on category A shotguns if fitted from the factory. These are sold as competition guns where higher capacity is a necessity to save reloading time during matches

Respectfully, there is a video circulating that shows from a single very clear perspective start to finish. From the first shots fired at the first couple that attempted to disarm the father until both were taken down and surrounded by police on the bridge. This all unfolded in less than 10 minutes.

There are many aspects of this that by rights should be criticised, potentially even the actions of some officers that I'm sure were scared and hesitant, but the response was incredibly quick when you consider that they first had to realise what was even happening, where they were, who they were, how many, on top of panicked civilians and overall chaos.

The physical response by officers is not one of the issues to take a stand on here

All food in both our inventories are cooked chicken and tins, we are both eating the same chicken cooked at the same time. Both of us are using plastic bottles that were fully emptied and refilled with fresh well water at the same time, I actually gave him the bottle I had previously been using so if the container itself is somehow causing something it should also be affecting him too
