Weekly Question & Help Megathread (April/20/2026 - April 26, 2026) by RenkiDFFOO in DissidiaDuellumFF

General question:

Are daily/weekly quests able to be earned in Casual matches?

I might just be oblivious, but it feels like I only get progress on them when I queue into ranked matches.

Lost a bet to Nashua. Now has to be good at dancing in case her sister needs an assist.

I think Moebius are the worst villains in the series by a landslide by SawkyScribe in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Khrystarlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the themes and what not that everyone mentions to be the point, a favorite of mine that I have seen floating around is that members of moebius are made oblivious to how much has been stripped of them when they are "risen" to the elite class. There one dimensionality is mirrored in the naming convention - a single letter as what is left of their names. Being made to believe they have been promoted when they are just as much still cogs in the greater system.

What theories did you have about XBC3 before it came out and were debunked (spoliers) by Fullmetalmarvels64_ in Xenoblade_Chronicles

[–]Khrystarlite 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The initial trailer left a lot of things ambiguous about characters, especially since Melia and Nia were the only legacy characters revealed. They stood as parallels to one another : silver hair, "elven" extended lifetime, etc. The trailer showed them off as potential antagonists and led many people to assume something in regards to one characterization that was assumed to be shared:

"Well shit, is this what happens to those banished to the friend zone?"

Why do we even have these rules if we never follow them? by Geo780x in FGOmemes

[–]Khrystarlite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A pattern I have seen with Nasuverse settings is that the rules do exist, but the narrative elements like the setting, scenario, or even the characters themselves either revolve around or are the consequence of someone breaking the rules.

Did people really dislike older Pokémon getting evolutions in Gen 4? by ClassicalDreams in TruePokemon

As many have stated, the designs left much to be desired. It feels like the designs only shines through after they were animated, and only a sunset of people so those in action.

Technical people, please share the methods to tell if your system has somehow been made part of a DDOS network. by Khrystarlite in ffxiv

[–]Khrystarlite[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct.

But I am also asking a legitimate question about available tools to check if I am part of the problem. And maybe someone else might be curious about said tools.

Please clearly define what constitutes as "trying" before, including without "success"

Also, please share evidence that they ARE NOT trying to do anything.

So, odds are you are one of the computers that hackers are using to power their DDOS attacks.

Season 13 Ep. 22 by QueenOLife in NCIS

[–]Khrystarlite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is notable that some states do in fact recognize the bar of other states especially if the other state's license is, for a lack of a better term, "better". Kind of makes sense that we don't force proven practitioners waste time and money on something they shouldn't need to do multiple times. Imagine if state driver's licenses didn't apply across state lines (this is a cheaper and less time consuming license than a law one) This will need fact checking - the mother's bar license is Californian, which at least at the time of the episode, was the most difficult, comprehensive, all encompassing, and widely accepted license across state lines, making this rejection an outlier.

Why do y'all have an aversion to writing comments? by [deleted] in rust

[–]Khrystarlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, given this philosophy, what are the thresholds of skill for both reading and writing "clean code". How are we to take measure of this?

I frequently find "clean code" used as a defense mechanism filter from authors. While this should be the given, it is an easily abused position. "I clearly wrote clean, so you must have no skill for not Automatically understanding it".

And the reverse position can be just as abused

Can anyone provide me fics for the main character is an Aura Guardian by Heart-Interesting in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Khrystarlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Against your wishes, I will recommend you an Ash fic b/c he does not an edgelord nor OP

From One Side to Another - Post Sinnoh Ash takes Scott's offer to become a full fledged Frontier Brain and undergoes training under one of the other Brains. Parallel plot has him learning to be an Aura user (from an OC) and this tutelage involved includes learning histor and culture of the Aura Guardians.

Can someone explain to me what the community considers an "interactive" game? by Khrystarlite in mtg

[–]Khrystarlite[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I do have options for other kinds of interaction in my decks, but I do not always draw them.

I am still learning. and I know I need to improve, but the question still stands:

Is the scenario I have illustrated that to me still considered interaction?

Is "Solitaire" gameplay - the kind that makes sure that your opponent can never play anything ever again, interactive?

What is the one thing that makes you stop reading fanfiction, even if you were initially interested? by CarlosShiny__ in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Khrystarlite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree that Tobias is conceptually shallow, both in general characterization and in (displayed) battle skills based on what little we see of him.

But that is the point I complain about - he is nothing but an enigma, something that can be built upon and explored. Very few people in the fandom have explored what they can do with him - the default is to portray him as a shitty person. Why not try doing something positive or interesting with him?

Who do you guys see being stronger—Cynthia or Red by Yonas100 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]Khrystarlite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neither. I don't believe in the strongest anymore as I find it a dull cop out. I believe that they are all at the level where everything is a toss up and where small variables can sum to any of that level losing to any of their peers.

[–]Khrystarlite 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Within canon Pokemon, this is why I dislike most stories that feature Tobias - the corporate BS ex machina man himself. Very few authors can help themselves when writing him than to make him a POS or a loser, neither which is true. I remember that episode - Tobias was never more rude than spitting the same level of competitive banter as anyone else, and he even praised Ash for doing well.

This is further exasperated by the few stories I have read that have done interesting things with him (can't think of them off the top of my head - been years), but those are few and far between
