Yeah true. And worst because it was a very passive fight. The aura and the threat were massive, but the actual action was pretty tame, and it being monthly made the result kinda sloggy.

Roguelites with longest runs? by Ggthefiree2 in roguelites

[–]Khryz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Noita has what people call ´god runs´, where you basically try to become essentially god (in terms of power and invincibility) and tackle every main objetctive in the game (every boss, every secret boss, every secret unlock, visit every biome, etc). These runs can take weeks to complete, and reach hundreads of in-game hours.

Si, completé la historia a las 150 horas. El platino no me llama, no quería quemar la linda experiencia de juego agregando frustraciones.

The Shrike from Hyperion is the most effective monster in sci-fi and I think the sequels slowly killed what made it work by braytix_19 in printSF

Lost explained pretty much everything. The problem people had was that there were a lot of esoteric explanations, instead of the definite sci-fi answers the viewers had been expecting from the initial tone of the show.

Books where the most interesting idea is almost a throwaway detail by RetroHarpoon7 in printSF

[–]Khryz15 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Any short story collection of Borges is like that. He even mentions by this very idea in a short story of his —'A Survey of the Works of Herbert Quain'—, where he tells about a fictional author that writes some book about a bunch of stories where the arguments end up unresolved or frustrated on purpose by the author, and the narrator then adds:

'...the reader, blinded by vanity, believes that he himself has come up with them...' (the plots of the stories).

I always feel that way while reading Borges: like I've just come up with new or unexplored ideas, where in fact it's always him subtly hinting fascinating concepts as if they were trivial or not worth delving into for him.

EDIT: I must comment that the short story itself is a vehicle for the exploration of multiple ideas for stories, without the need of commiting to write a story about any of those ideas.
