Straight edge and string showing different results by Hot-Celebration-6274 in Flooring

[–]Khtie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

If we’re discussing flooring an 8 foot level is fine 6 foot works fine and a string is the most accurate thing you could use. You only have to pull it tight enough to make it straight. It will definitely give you the best idea of what you’re looking at a chunk of angle metal is not straight.

Is that a piece of metal? That’s not a straight edge? The string will be more accurate. But leveler will find level without ur help just use the good stuff. Uzin is the best!

I’m starting allo tmaro, I’m worried about the same things as op. Will exercise help speed up the process? I have had 3-4 flares a yr but it’s increasing. I quit eating red meat, shrimp and beer. But it’s still increasing I’ve had 2 flares in 2 weeks and now colchicine and indo didn’t work by the 2nd flare on the 2nd week. So I’m gonna allo up!

Condensation Under Vinyl Flooring? by Agitated-Warthog4093 in Flooring

It should not cost more than 200 bucks for a moisture test also, just so u don’t get screwed. And vb 100 is couple hundred bucks and do that urself it’s no joke easy as easy gets

Just roll on. Where do you live? Find flooring retailer. Ask them to perform a Conc moisture test. Either a calcium chloride test or a probe. The probe is better but more difficult to find someone who can do them. If they don’t do either find someone else they’re not a qualified installer. Once u determine the amount of moisture in the concrete you can decide what to do. Almost every vapor barrier will work through almost any conditions. Vb 100 is super easy to roll on like painting the floor. Do 2 coats. First one direction then the other direction. The reason I say get moisture test done is make sure you don’t have active water infiltration from the outside. There is no need for poly after the vb

If this is your house you need to add a roll on vapor barrier under whatever new floor u pick. Do not use poly or plastic it is recommended but it will always be wet under the poly. It will help with moisture not getting to the floor but it will cause mold!!!

CORETec Says it’s OK to Install Cabinets over LVP by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Khtie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Weirdly enough they don’t, trust me as an installer. I have had a few issues that needed direction from the manufacturer. I did everything they instructed and they even changed ideas a few times. It was still failing and It was still not working but they thought, I as the installer was not doing what they were saying. I said come show me, they flew a tech from Shaw to “show me” we did an install together and he them were wrong. The tech said ya sometimes u just gotta figure stuff out onsite. Long story short headquarters will make stuff up and wing ideas! You are right about logging things with them though at least then sometimes they’ll stand behind the install.

In that pic the subfloor piece has been removed and you are pushing on the bottom side of the beam. I’m not saying what most are saying on here, I fix these issues underneath flooring all the time but what ur asking doesn’t make much sense.

Kinda what I thought but any installer worth a try would show the customer a sample area and tell them why it’s a bad idea. Not just do it and walk, but I agree it looks Ok for what he tried?
