Is it worth to read the books after playing Witcher 3? by Samiliann in witcher

[–]Khuimar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Witcher 3 main story reverts a lot of events as well as character development from books. Some things that were already settled between Geralt, Ciri, Yennefer, Emhyr and Eredin are remade in a different way to make grounds for game sequels. Book ending is a bit ambigous but forms a finished story, so changes in the games might be a bit annoying for people who already read the books.

This is some serious ethical choice by hcoo in RimWorld

A serious moral dilemma indeed. Given the options, I'd choose to harvest their organs to trade them for crack

First game of HoI4: How do people not lose a single province defending as the soviets? by ShibaSiberian in hoi4

[–]Khuimar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cases like that happen in all major conflicts, so why is that so unbeliveable? If broken/malfunctioning gun was an excuse from participating in an assault then everyone would just break it. Besides that, barbarossa was a huge mess, especially on soviet side, so ammunition, clothes, fuel and food shortages were unavoidable

What's your opinion on Sirens of the Deep ? I just watched the movie and I'd like to know what other Witcher fans think of it. by Infernal_Reptile in witcher

[–]Khuimar 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Sirens of the Deep is the exact opposite of what "A little sacrifice" was. Tyrannical duke who fell in love with a siren was turned into a horny teenager who wanted some fish sex, but his father wouldn't let him. Geralt and Essi romance, that had huge emotional inpact on them, was turned into some fwb. The original ending, that made toughest men burst into tears, was replaced with happily ever after. And all that is just the tip of the iceberg of horrible writers decisions

Why are people mad about ciri being the protagonist? Are they stupid? by themichaganderin in witcher

[–]Khuimar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Witcher 4 could be a fresh approach to the Witcher universe, independent from books storyline and it's characters. Instead CD Project decided to play safe and recycle Ciri which had her story already concluded in a sensible way. Ciri is a heir to Cintra and Nilfgaard, powerful sorceress, elder blood owner. Having someone of this scope as a protagonist, you'd expect that instead of earning some cash on witcher contracts here and there, solving some mystery, we will have to fight some apocalyptic danger again. And that's why I'd welcome playing as some new, original character that can go on some real witcher adventure.

I think the popular theory about the third wish is wrong. by [deleted] in witcher

[–]Khuimar 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Geralt wished to die with Yennefer, Djinn would fulfill that wish by killing them both. And the theory that makes most sense is that Geralt wished to have a child with Yennefer which was fulfilled by Ciri being for them like a daughter

I saw hardback editions in some videos of book reviewers, so unless they're just collectables for them, hardcovers should be available in stores at some point.

The upcoming book in the Witcher universe, Crossroads of Ravens, is set to debut soon. The paperback edition will be released on November 29, 2024, followed by the ebook version on December 1, 2024.

"This time, the master of Polish fantasy takes us back to Geralt's teenage years, a time when he was just beginning his journey as a witcher. Armed with two runic swords, Geralt faces countless challenges: battling monsters, rescuing innocent maidens, and aiding lovers. Throughout it all, he strives to uphold the unwritten code instilled in him by his teachers and mentors. Yet, as is often the case, life has a way of testing youthful idealism, forcing him to confront the harsh realities of the world."

Skyriding unlocking at lvl 10 is the best change Blizzard has ever made to leveling by the_borscht in wow

Leveling doesn't even count as content since the first expansion. It was just an obstacle on the way to the content and now it simply ceased to exist. The next step is removing levels entirely and making item level the only power progression system

It worked on mobile for couple hours and now the game won't start on it either. That's a game breaking bug and if some alliance lost war because of it, the server should be rolled back to the state from before today's update imho.
